It was "The Comedian" episode from the new Twilight Zone series which was put up on Youtube by CBS All Access. The surprising part was I didn't care for the episode but they Highlighted my comment. :)

View Full Version : Wow! I just watched the new Twilight Zone episode and dakert 04-01-2019, 02:22 PM It was "The Comedian" episode from the new Twilight Zone series which was put up on Youtube by CBS All Access. And do you have a subscription or they actually put it free on YouTube? (Now that sounds like an April Fools joke, if CBS wanted people to see the streaming Twilight Zone free they surely would have put it on their over the air station to get the ratings.) PhoenixAcres 04-01-2019, 10:54 PM They actually put it on youtube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=19GO8-Rrn0g treky 04-02-2019, 12:27 AM They revived "THE TWILIGHT ZONE" AGAIN??? This is the 3rd time since the 80s! What's up with the networks reviving all their shows lately? MA 04-02-2019, 08:43 AM I watched some of this last night, and I thought it was pretty good so far from what I've seen. My mom really wanted to watch this, so we just decided to give it a shot. dakert 04-02-2019, 09:36 AM I commented that it reminded me of a Tales From The Crypt episode and there was too much swearing and it was boring. I figured there would be enough people here curious about the new show and I am interested in hearing your opinions  PhoenixAcres 04-02-2019, 12:21 PM I commented that it reminded me of a Tales From The Crypt episode and there was too much swearing and it was boring. I figured there would be enough people here curious about the new show and I am interested in hearing your opinions  I watched the first episode. I think it was good in its own way. It had a very Twilight Zone premise, follow-through, and overall message but it was lacking the old charm. It would have worked better as a half-hour show. They were trying to make it more raw with the swearing but I think that hurt the show more than it helped. The cursing would have carried more weight if they used it sparingly rather than every other line being a swear. Not to mention the original series found ways to express emotion without taking that easy route. icecream 04-02-2019, 03:12 PM Good grief, I was going to watch the pilot but won't bother now. Constant swearing is a big turn-off. dakert 04-02-2019, 04:09 PM Good grief, I was going to watch the pilot but won't bother now. Constant swearing is a big turn-off. Get with the times everyone swears  It bugs me when people would say that to defend swearing on film. Of course there are exceptions. TSMIV 04-02-2019, 05:31 PM I watched the second episode "Nightmare at 30,000 ft" because I was interested in how they re-did the original. It wasn't awful, but it wasn't very good either. It felt like it was trying to be too relevant to 2019 and the ending was kind of a dud. Peele just does not have the gravitas of Rod Serling. As for language, there were a handful of f-bombs, but not excessive. I've got CBS all access free for another 2 weeks, but I doubt I watch anymore of the new Twilight Zone. icecream 04-02-2019, 07:59 PM Get with the times everyone swears  No they don't. There are plenty of civilized people who don't swear. treky 04-03-2019, 12:44 AM No they don't. There are plenty of civilized people who don't swear. that's right! I don't swear and I know a lot of people who don't. |
