Well, it's been 3 months since I saw the last episode of the series and I thought I'd give it a break and watch another series on Fridays. BUT, I couldn't stand it anymore, I just had to start the whole series over again 3 weeks ago. Fridays just weren't the same without starting breakfast with Bachelor Father along with coffee and raisin bran. I really missed this series for some reason, it's not that funny really, it's just a pleasure for me to watch the goings on and all the great actors that pass by the screen. So, call me weak, but I guess I'm addicted now to Bachelor Father.;)

You're probably geting near watching the Jack Benny episode. I'll have to watch that again--don't even remember if it's a good one.

I remember that Jack episode from my first go-around. I forget the details though, I think Jack wanted to hire Bentley for some reason or another.

I originally recorded this series off RTV (back when it still existed in my area, it's gone now for years) but RTV never did show the series in epis. guide order so my DVDs skip all around just the way RTV haphazardly broadcast them. I was missing some episodes and a couple years ago I was able to trade for episodes I was missing, those trader discs though are mostly in order. But it'll be a while till I get back to them. Jack was an episode I did record but who knows when it's going to pop up. (Actually I have listed what episodes are on which discs, but I don't follow the ep. guide order when watching, just start at first disc and keep going till the last. Too much trouble skipping all over from one disc to another to watch in order.)

There are 2 shows I don't find particularly funny BUT I really enjoy watching them, Bach. Father is one and the other is the Ozzie & Harriet Show, not funny but I find both of these series highly enjoyable. Why I don't know. Best not to analyze these things or you ruin it for yourself.:talk:

I like the later O&Hs better than the early ones. I lke the way they write for Kris and June, and even Harriet--they seem to put the boys on the spot all the time. Even Clara next door, although her voice grates.

O&H is one of the few sitcoms played for an audience, with live laughter added to the soundtrack.

I only have the Ozzie shows that RTV broadcast years ago when I used to have RTV (the local station took it off and replaced it with Me TV then it took Me TV off and replaced that with the God awful TBD, no accounting for taste amongst station owners). I wish I had more to watch RTV used to skip around A LOT sometimes only playing one show from an entire season! But what I have I enjoyed watching and I still enjoy the Christmas episodes I bought years ago every Christmas time (I never watch holiday shows when it's not the right holiday time).

OH Nuts!

And actually Hazel’s coming on now on Antenna. But I’ve seen these eps a few times before. And the one with Champagne Tony is really sad - about a year later he was killed in a plane crash. He was a rising star in the golf world back them. Such a tragedy and loss.

The humor on O & H was kind of corny. But one thing endearing about O & H is it’s kind of the first reality show. And of course Harriet and Ricky’s great acting. I think why O & H really resonates with me, is it’s kind of comforting more than anything else-esp. when Harriet and Ricky figure prominently in the eps. Harriet’s a great actress with a wry sense of timing.

Re BF, I was ecstatic when Antenna aired Bachelor Father, but after watching it a few times, wasn’t super enamored. Don’t get me wrong, it was pleasant enough, but didn’t send me to the moon and back.

Me too. The eps with Ricky and his frat brothers’ misadventures, and the episodes about Ricky & Kris and David & June were also my favorites. And Clara was a hoot; love the way she didn’t let hubby Joe get away with anything - he was such a cheapskate and moocher.

P.S. you can keep the Tiger episodes! I found those eps cloying.
