'80sSitcoms 03-31-2019, 12:53 AM WOW! Nice reference to their former star. Was Felice on the poster? I wonder if any of Molly's movies were ever seen? I don't think Felice was on the poster; we see the bottom half, not sure if we ever see the whole thing. No, we've never noticed anything about Molly's movies ("we" being you and me, as we've been binging these seasons recently, lol). But man, that would have been so cool if they had gone to the drive-in to see one of her movies! I was surprised they got to show actual footage from "Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?"! That reminds me of a really funny line from "Designing Women" that doesn't make sense, but it's still funny: Bed-ridden Anthony: "It's like that movie, 'Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?' --- and I'm Jane!" RetroGuy2000 03-31-2019, 01:50 AM Hey now, Blair wore glasses in LM,LD! Christopher 04-01-2019, 08:14 PM Hey now, Blair wore glasses in LM,LD! For 2 seconds! Blair also wore them in Rumor Has It to look smart in law school. I've never heard of Zapped. After searching for it, I read it wasn't much of a hit in theaters. That's probably why it's unknown. I can't even remember this movie airing in cable reruns in the 90's. It's weird because Charles in Charge was a bit hit in syndication growing up. I would have thought a movie with him and Buddy would be too. I'm surprise since Felice has 3rd billing on the movie artwork poster that she didn't get mentioned in the trailer as one of the stars in the movie. I guess they were going for the stars that actually had recognition to their name with viewers. It's a shame she didn't star in something with Helen Slater since they could have passed for sisters IMO. Felice always reminded me of her. I could have seen them play siblings and believe it from their resemblance towards each other. Lorimar Television 04-01-2019, 08:21 PM Blair also wore them in Rumor Has It to look smart in law school. You’re right! I forgot about that. Yeah, it's hard to promote without "names", so I wouldn't be surprised that she wasn't mentioned in the trailer by name. You’re right! I forgot about that. Me too, but I wouldn't have known because I don't plan on watching that episode. I might be done with my binging, I dunno if I'm gonna watch any season 9 or not. Zapped hit #1 in theaters (https://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?page=weekly&id=zapped.htm) for the first week of September 1982, but had a huge drop-off in audience after that. It wasn't anything more than a T and A sex comedy, the type that was very popular in the 1980s. Despite the drop-off in audience, it was Embassy Pictures' 6th biggest film of all time (https://www.boxofficemojo.com/studio/chart/?studio=embassy.htm). Embassy Pictures was the film division of Norman Lear's production company, but was never a major film studio; they didn't have the budget or big-name stars of the big Hollywood studios; instead, they mostly relied on TV talent, and brought those names to film. I can't even remember this movie airing in cable reruns in the 90's. I don't think they could have run it during the daytime, without serious editing. It likely aired in late-night slots for a while, but by the 1990s, when cable TV would have aired it, it was already very dated, with early 1980s haircuts and clothes. It's a shame she didn't star in something with Helen Slater since they could have passed for sisters IMO. Felice always reminded me of her. I could have seen them play siblings and believe it from their resemblance towards each other. I can definitely see what you're saying, with some of Helen Slater's photos. '80sSitcoms 04-02-2019, 01:53 AM Back to the glasses thing, I swear Tootie wore glasses in at least one scene in a show near the end of season 8. Christopher knows season 8 so well, maybe he can recall. I'd have to do some research, but I swear I remember seeing her in medium-size-ish small gold circlet frames. Natalie did don glasses for her "disguise" to sneak into Tootie's sorority pledge party ("NOTD", I so remember that line from the original viewing when I was a child, haha). And then there are sunglasses, which several of the characters wore at some time. RetroGuy2000 04-02-2019, 04:37 AM Steve??? WOW! I know, right? Now, clearly he wasn't in "Running", but I suppose it's possible he could have been cut from a scene.
