Mattel Unveils New BTS Doll Collection

It’s one thing to break records by becoming the first K-Pop band to top the Billboard 200, but another major marker of success is getting dolls and toys made in your likeness. That moment arrived for BTS on Tuesday, when Mattel unveiled its new doll collection for the biggest boy band in the world.

V, Jungkook, Jimin, Jin, RM, Suga, and J-Hope have now been rendered in doll form. Special care was taken with their outfits, which are inspired by the band members’ appearances in their music video for “Idol.”

After unveiling the collection as a whole, Mattel highlighted each outfit in individual tweets celebrating “RM’s chic style,” “Jin’s endlessly handsome style,” and so on.




The new dolls aren’t the only BTS news on the horizon. The band recently announced that their next album, Map of the Soul: Persona, will be released on April 12.

They’re also still performing dates for their BTS World Tour: Love Yourself.

I keep waiting on them to do a duet with Dolly....betcha it’ll happen sooner than later. Lol

When it comes to celebrity dolls Mattel has always been the king of celebrity dolls and since the release of their first celebrity doll of British model Twiggy in the 60's Mattel knew that celebrity dolls would be in high demand with children and collectors. And so with the announcement of the BTS dolls I think collectors and BTS fans will grab each one when they hit store shelves and they will be impossible to find just like Galoob's celebrity dolls of the Spice Girls came out in 1997. It also seems that when singers make their marks Mattel always makes dolls of them like Shakira Fifth Harmony Brandy and the amazing Vitamin C doll from 2000. I think BTS will gain more popularity due to these dolls and gain more fans. I can honestly say Mattel really does make great celebrity dolls and I think these BTS dolls will be a hit

Dolly Moved BTS Member To Tears
K-Pop group BTS this week released several clips of footage from their experience at this year's Grammy Awards, including one of member Jungkook being moved to literal tears during Dolly's tribute segment as she was performing “After The Goldrush.”

Yep....I can definitely see a Dolly duet coming in the future....

And I won't be surprised if it shows up on an album in the future.
