I don't even wear shorts in public! Unless I'm at the beach, pool, or water-park!

God doesn’t care what you wear as long as you worship with a loving heart.

I would NEVER wear shorts to a formal religious service. It’s about decorum and respect. Wearing long pants, a light colored shirt and conservative tie is the most informal I would dress.

Yeah, that is what I think too !! ;) I voted yes on the shorts in church ! I have even worn shorts to church in the summer!! The Catholic Church is very casual these days. As long as the shorts aren't really short cutoffs, like Daisy Duke or sloppy looking . But a nice and neat pair of shorts that aren't real short / longer and not too sexy are fine ! And for men not beach shorts but a nice casual walking short is fine ! ;)

Oh wow!! If a guy wore a tie to church out here in casual California it would be like what is he so dressed up for??:confused: Unless it was a wedding or funeral it's more dressy of course but even than ties aren't seen that much!! ;)

My Hubby doesn't even own a tie!!:D

You better be worried about winding up someplace that's hotter than your
church could EVER be! Noooo, I'm kidding! Sorry, I couldn't resist saying that!
Just joking! But, until recently, I would have agreed totally, with Oh Nuts, about church attire. Because, in my church, you would feel VERY out of place wearing shorts or even causal clothes period. But recently I went to a non-
denominational millennial church. I was greeted by the Pastor, he was wearing
a T-shirt and jeans, the members were wearing shorts, jeans, sandals, and flip-flops. Their sanctuary was 50 round tables with chairs and a stage, with a long counter on the side, where they were serving snacks and soft drinks free.
You just get up whenever you want during the service. The church was PACKED with young people! The atmosphere was that of Joy, Love, and Peace and worshiping God, in scriptures, praise and songs! It was very uplifting! An eye-opener to me! Esp. about church attire. God looks past the Physical and looks at the Heart!

I agree with #4. True it's what in your heart that matters, but lead us not into temptation. https://www.christiantoday.com/article/5-bible-verses-on-how-a-christian-woman-should-dress/103602.htm

Shorts seem too casual to be worn to church. I had a hard time getting use to the idea of ladies wearing pants there. In the 60s, 70s and 80s dresses are what ladies wore to church and men wore dark slacks and button-up shirts with collars. Ties were optional.

how about skirt to wear if you are a gal. Shorts for a guy. Nothing wrong being a little feminine if wearing a skirt.

For a place of worship I think modesty is called for, but that's just my opinion. Could I broaden this out a little and ask what women think of this story? https://www.elle.com/uk/life-and-culture/a26819289/crop-top-flight-passenger/

I have nothing against wearing shorts to church...we have a modern service...or had a modern service!

And many people wear shorts in the summer...but it isn't me...I wear pants all the time except at the beach or when I'm swimming.

But my last pastor was laid-back and wasn't 100% bossy...there was a time you probably can go to church in the buff!...

...But I would NEVER recommend it!

Up here it's pretty casual so I think it's all right, as long as it fits in the dress code of the church.

If it's the summer and really hot, I have no problems wearing them in the summer.
