Yesterday, we had a meeting at our church. My "pastor" wants to merge both services and many have asked questions. One question offended him since it was about Lutheran Doctrine and Lutheranism!

First...I'm a Lutheran and I got offended that he said "Martin Luther didn't die on the cross"...but he basically crucified Martin Luther! What Nerve!

Second...He wouldn't even let the guy who ask the questions finish. My brother even read Matthew 18:15-20....

Dealing With Sin in the Church
15 “If your brother or sister sins,[c] go and point out their fault, just between the two of you. If they listen to you, you have won them over. 16 But if they will not listen, take one or two others along, so that ‘every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.’[d] 17 If they still refuse to listen, tell it to the church; and if they refuse to listen even to the church, treat them as you would a pagan or a tax collector.

18 “Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be[e] bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be[f] loosed in heaven.

Third...as a Millennial/Generation Y...the people my "pastor" wants to bring-in...I want out!

Once my taxes are done...I finally got someone to do them...and my SSDI is back on...and it's all happening on Easter weekend...I'm quitting my job!

I'm STILL getting that broken record...my dad...to say "get a new job" and I must admit it...I HAVE to be at his house every Sunday!

But with a "Pastor" like that...I've made-up my mind on going to church there...I'm NOT going to a church where "The Circle Maker" is MORE important than "Luther's Small Catechism"!

And...if my "pastor" has a problem with me NOT going to church at his church on Sunday...I'm gonna tell him this...

They probably want to merge services due to declining attendance in one of the services. It's happening in Protestant denominations.

See St. Matthew 22: 36-40 (quoted verbatim in the Rite I Holy Communion, Book Of Common Prayer), and Deuteronomy 5: 6-21. Mainline Protestant denominations (mine, too) do not want to talk about sin--they should!

Martin Luther composed the great hymn during the 16th century Reformation, A Mighty Fortress Is Our God. Sung at the Episcopal National Cathedral, 9/14/01, with the man crying at the end--it chokes me up every time I see it. He obviously lost someone in the 9/11 attacks. (At 2:41 the blond guy with glasses is U. S. Solicitor General Theodore Olsen, who lost his wife in the attack). (Audio and video aren't matched, if you watch this.)

Don't be...

...I wouldn't doubt that many people who are Catholic and Evangelical celebrated Martin Luther's 500th anniversary. If someone from Trinity Broadcasting Network or Billy Graham had a speech on Martin Luther means...they understood what Luther stood for.

But I really should move-on...even if I decide to resign or get laid-off.
