When Redd Fox died in 1991, I think he was the only one from the old TV show gang that did not attend his funeral. I always wonder why he did not attend since Lamont will always be known and connected to Redd as his TV son.
Lamont as s a ordained minster could have said a few words over his coffin.

Demond said in his book that he probably wouldn't have attended Redd's funeral even if he was in Los Angeles at the time because as he put it, "I prefer to remember people the way I saw them, not lying in state in a wooden box wearing make-up."

Plus, by taking a day off to attend Redd's funeral, con Desmond would of have to take a day off from steeling money from naive church folk.

Thanks for info. I guess that is a good reason as any. He probably also wanted to stay from Hollywood and his connection to it. He said he never talked to or see Foxx after Sanford&son show ended, so also one wonder if there was a grunge between them.

I don't follow his career as evangelical minister. But being well known and a celebrity, he could do a lot of goods for less fortunet, or fill his own pocket. I hope he is doing the former.
