In 1980, during the fourth season of Charlie’s Angels, producer Aaron Spelling tried one of those backdoor pilots, hoping for a spin-off series. In this episode, entitled "Toni’s Boys", the “Charlie” equivalent was played by none other than Barbara Stanwyck. The show however, never made it past this one experiment.

I thought it was a fun episode and would have at least watched some episodes had it gone to series. Over all the early 80's was not a good time for TV
There was almost an all-male spinoff of Charlie's Angels (https://www.metv.com/stories/there-was-almost-an-all-male-spinoff-of-charlies-angels)
The series was titled Toni's Boys.

Everyone knows about Charlie's Angels. (Just ask three people to pose for a photo.) But few people know about the attempted spin-off: Toni's Boys. Yes, there was a backdoor pilot episode for a gender-swapped spin-off version of Charlie's Angels but with dudes.
This episode is weird. And wonderful. I think it's time we bring back the idea for Toni's Boys.
Upcoming Videos:
-Normally, I at least have something filmed for next week at this point that I can definitively say, yes, this will be the next video. But not this week! I did cave and have three Etsy "psychics" draw my future husband, so I'm definitely doing a video on that. There's also a cult classic from the 1960s that I want to talk about, but that script's not even done. There's also a super weird "erotica" author I want to talk about -- I purchased two "books" but haven't read them yet.
I keep thinking about taking a month off to work on some of my videos that require more prep work -- like the one about The Magicians: The Rare Case Where the Show is Better Than the Book. And one about a classic science fantasy book series that I think should be the next Game of Thrones. We shall seeeee.
