According to the Daily Mail, "Former Lizzie McGuire actress Carly Schroeder has enlisted in the US Army in order to give her voice as an advocate for veterans and human trafficking more 'validity'.
Schroeder – who played Melina Bianco in the children's TV show starring Hilary Duff - is no stranger to the military as men in her family also serve.
The 28-year-old TV-and-movie star said they're part of the reason why she was ditching Hollywood to serve her country.
