They were a huge influence later on Metallica and Megadeth and other 80's bands. This song title should be placed in the thread "Song Titles That Won't Be Repeated". They were a very *different* sort of band. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YDHBCFROn1k opus 03-13-2019, 10:18 PM P2tKrxeAIpA Penny Lane 03-15-2019, 08:35 PM Roses And Rainbows- Danny Hutton 1960'sTVfan 03-15-2019, 10:45 PM Blue Ribbon Clown- Curley Barrix Penny Lane 03-16-2019, 08:30 PM Buzz Buzz Buzz- The Hollywood Flames ThisLittlePiggy 03-17-2019, 01:37 AM "Holland, 1945" by Neutral Milk Hotel tlc38tlc38 03-17-2019, 08:48 AM These Old Bones by Dolly Parton From her “Halos & Horns” album. That is an absolutely amazing song that I love to listen to. 1960'sTVfan 03-17-2019, 06:37 PM The song I mentioned, Blue Ribbon Clown by Curley Barrix, is a country/western tune from 1966. I have a near mint copy of the vinyl 45. The lyrics go something like this: I held a dream of many men I knew that she was true The kind of girl we'd all die for With just the right things, too But like a fool I took for granted The loveliness she gave And lost it all because of lust For thrills I'd seem to crave Oh yes, I'm just a Blue Ribbon Clown I won the prize for foolish guys The saddest heart in town Now I'm left with the memory Of nights that I despise The constant spark of agony Within my lonely eyes Now it's too late for me to regain perfect ecstasy But maybe by my efforts I can make somebody see Don't stray, don't risk your world Or your happiness at home For just like me you'll have to wear The title of alone Oh yes, I'm just a Blue Ribbon Clown I won the prize for foolish guys The saddest heart in town Now I'm left with the memory Of nights that I despise The constant spark of agony Within my lonely eyes And the constant spark of agony Within my lonely eyes tlc38tlc38 03-17-2019, 07:36 PM Another gem by Dolly I bet not many people know about. “Mountain Angel” DJM77 03-17-2019, 08:00 PM A great song by Carole King that no one seems to have heard of/talks about much is her song "Nightingale", of course among others.
