Like what happened to Cassie (Ann Jillian's) in-between Seasons 3 and 4 and how Ginger came about as her replacement. I'm assuming that they didn't bother mentioning Maggie's (Louise Lasser) where-abouts during the lengthy hiatus in-between Seasons 2 (the last one on ABC) and 3. Speaking of which, I doubt they bothered coming up for an explanation for why Lois (Susan Sullivan) or Vicki (Wendy Schall) weren't working at the restaurant anymore come Season 2. It would've made the most sense to come up with an exit plot (and not just "Chuck Cunningham" it) of sorts for Cassie, given that she was the most popular waitress on the show.

Had things had turned out differently (like say IAL was more successful during its run on ABC), I wonder if or how a Cassie spin-off could've worked? The folks at IAL seemed to feel that Cassie could be replaced (just like with Lois, Vicki and Maggie before) and that no single waitress was was really the out and out "star".
I mean, they tried to spin Flo off from Alice (who was also the breakout character on her respective show) and later Sandra Clarke from 227 (which only lasted with a single pilot). Then again, Ann Jillian had already tried her hand at solo sitcoms (first with Jennifer Slept Here and her self-titled sitcom), and they both only lasted a single season.

Did anybody who has ever scene the fifth season finale "Tune In, Tune Out (http://www.tv.com/shows/its-a-living/tune-in-tune-out-13491/)", that the blonde wig that Jan wears makes her look like Cassie? It's weird that they sort of acted like Cassie never existed after Ann Jillian left the show.
OH Nuts!

This was a fun show; it’d be fantastic if it came to Antenna. I loved the way Cassie and Nancy would insult each other.
