Blanche Devereaux. They had her obituary in the paper and she was more upset that they put her age in it.

I remember Dan Fielding being declared dead, but not Christine Sullivan

Lt. Henri-Batiste LeClerq on MASH. Everyone thought he was dead until he showed up to his own memorial service.

Also the lamb on MASH. Hawkeye and Trapper made a spam lamb to fool the Greeks, and the lamb flew to the States to live on Radar's farm.

Wasn't Steve Rhoades on Married...With Children declared dead by Marcy, only for him to return? My memory is hazy on this?

I remember Dan Fielding being declared dead, but not Christine SullivanIt was on the episode that aired today. Christine had a replacement assigned to take over her job since she was dead. He got nine months of maternity leave at the end when Christine rose from the dead.

Cool. I like Night Court, but the show jumped the shark in my opinion after Christine fell in love and married Tony.

The grandfather on "Family Matters" (Harriet's and Rachel's father). His ex-wife had lied to their daughters and told them that he died in the Korea war.

He only met his daughters again when they were adults and had children of their own.

Mimi Bobek arranged for Drew Carey to be declared dead?
Is that right or wrong?

A couple of famous and obvious ones:

Roseanne Conner and Charlie Harper ("Two and a Half Men")

So are we talking about a character being killed off a show, while the actor is still alive in real life, or a character mistakenly being presumed dead on the show (or faking their death as a part of a plot), such as a character viewing their obituary in the newspaper or attending their funeral? I would assume the latter!

Yes it is definitely the latter, the character mistakenly being presumed dead.

Gilbert Gottfried played the part, right?

What about Captain Tuttle on MASH? He was falsely killed off by Hawkeye, Trapper, & Radar. Of course, he never existed in the first place, but still...?

Gilbert Gottfried played the part, right? No, Gilbert came on later in the series. I think he was a replacement DA for Dan when he went nuts and acted like the Phantom of the Opera.
