First off, I don't know why it's so important for Supergirl to have a secret identity to begin with; but there's no excuse for Alex to have stayed on with the DEO when the chances of Supergirl's secret identity became too great; and she should've resigned and taken a less paying job as a cop because there's no reason for her sister to have secrets from her; and this change was only done to aggravate fans.
