Harvey suggested on that Mo'Nique being blackballed from the industry was her fault during their interview on his daytime talk show. “Let’s go. You started getting labeled as difficult,” Harvey said, according to Decider. “Why do you believe that that happened, and do you see that changing, and why?” Mo’Nique responded that she was “labeled as difficult” because she said “no” to “some very powerful people” When Harvey said "it's not cool" that they're arguing, Mo'Nique responded: “We’re not arguing. You and your sister, we’re having a conversation. And I’m getting ready to punch you in your mouth. That’s the conversation. Bam, bam.”

Mo'Nique brought all of her problems on to herself I'm afraid. Bare in mind that she refused to present the following year (as customary for the prior year's Oscar winners) because the Academy wouldn't pay for her expenses to fly to LA and for her makeup/hairstylist. Instead, they worked out a deal to let her announce the nominees. Nevermind that all presenters get a gift bag that's worth almost six figures.

Thank about it this way, even though she was only paid about $50K (https://www.lipstickalley.com/threads/mo%E2%80%99nique-becomes-irate-while-filming-steve-harvey-talk-show-allegedly-threatens-to-slap-him.2125102/page-17#post-43974259) for Precious, she still should have gone on a promotion tour for the movie as long as someone was paying for her transportation accommodations. It would have more than likely only worked to her benefit. At the time of the press junket for Precious, Mo'Nique was complaining about being tired from doing her show, and she refused to go overseas to promote it.
