Monk is more comedy than anything else. Just because it's one hour, it's still a sitcom. Sadly, Monk, despite being one of the most popular post 2000 tv shows on the board, is saddled in the classic dramas/dramedies thread where very few people post. I say let's move Monk to the 2000s Sitcoms thread, where people will be able to find it more easier.

Anybody feel the same way? If so, please post and/or let the mods know how you feel.

Thank you

I was never able to get into the show, but it certainly seemed like they were going for laughs more than anything else.

I think so too.

I agree it's a funny show, but I just don't consider it a situation comedy. I don't think going for laughs was its main goal.

Exhibit A why Monk should be In The Sitcom 2000s thread.

What drama? The viewer knew who the killer was after the opening scene in 95% of every episode. Monk was a comedy more than anything else. It's a shame it is stuck in the graveyard that is the Classic Dramas/Dramedies thread, where practically nobody posts. Even classics like NYPD Blue, The Sopranos, Breaking Bad, etc. get no traffic to their respective threads here.
