I always thought it odd that the writers wrote off Carrie's sister from King of Queens. While King of Queens was never short of stories, it could have Carrie's sister play a minor recurring role like Doug's sister (Ricki Lake), even if it meant a re-cast change at a later point.

Was the intention of ghosting her like she never existed so that Carrie and her father's (Arthur's) relationship was more exclusive? Did the writers ever mention why they eliminated the sister (apparently half-sister) altogether?
