When the Super Bowl comes around every year the second best part to the actual game itself that makes fans wait with anticipation every year is the commercials and I have noticed that the commercials that air during the Super Bowl have gone downhill and I think that the Super Bowl commercials have changed their image? Is it because the Super Bowl is the biggest moneymaker for commercials next to any other event in history? Or is it because the Super Bowl is the perfect spot to promote new products and new movies by having nicely done commercials? Because it seems that every time the Super Bowl comes around each year the commercials aren't that great. Take for example why did Tide have a Super Bowl commercial two years ago and Mr. Clean had one of the most talked about Super Bowl commercials that same year and I don't know what does household cleaners and laundry detergent have to do with football? The only thing I saw that made that Tide commercial very popular that year was because of Terry Bradshaw's appearance. Another thing I noticed about Super Bowl commercials is that they are now getting a female audience by having products like Oil Of Olay and stores like Victoria's Secret have commercials during the Super Bowl too and with the debut of the Sarah Michelle Gellar Oil Of Olay commercial debuting at this year's Super Bowl it seems that the Super Bowl has now gotten an audience of female fans now. I remember in the 80's and 90's that the Super Bowl would have commercials for stuff like cars and snacks and sodas and have good previews for new movies that would debut in the spring and summer and were the second big affair of the Super Bowl next to the halftime show and they should improve the Super Bowl commercials for next year's Super Bowl to be really cool and funny
Have you noticed this about the Super Bowl commercials?

Hi, Bestie! I don't watch the Superbowl any more. Even the commercials are political and depressing. I wish we could make the superbowl great again!

Over Half of Many Super Bowl Commericals are good & some are not really too great during the 2000s & the 2010s(so far). Most of Super Bowl Commericals from The 1970s thru The 1990s are more entertaining.

This year's Super Bowl ads featured a lot of "frantic pop-culture mashups" (https://www.vox.com/culture/2019/2/4/18209892/best-super-bowl-commercials-2019-worst-bad-good)

"Watching the Super Bowl commercials during this year’s Big Game, I thought often of (Ralph Breaks the Internet) and his desperate meme hucksterism," says Todd VanDerWerff. "They weren’t ads so much as frantic pop culture mashups, and they rarely felt like commercials for specific products but rather some notion of a capitalist society in general. Beer commercials would become Game of Thrones commercials, and NFL legends would star in what amounted to wacky sitcom versions of the league, and The Big Lebowski’s the Dude would hang out with Sex and the City’s Carrie Bradshaw." VanDerWerff adds that this year's ads "felt less like the work of corporate marketing executives and more like they’d been blended together by some sentient algorithm that plucked a bunch of trending topics from random common Google searches. (Given the fact that several of the ads were for big tech giants like Google and Amazon, it’s entirely possible they were somewhat assembled by algorithms.)"

Sunday's ads were largely risk-averse, although they were more memorable than the game itself. "Why did so few brands manage to make something truly hilarious, poignant, or otherwise transcendent?" says Justin Peters. "Perhaps because the stakes are too high to take a leap: Super Bowl ads this year cost a reported $5.2 million per 30 seconds of air time. That price serves to box out smaller, less-established companies that might be eager to raise their profiles by airing a risky ad while encouraging larger companies to stick to familiar terrain: celebrity cameos, treacly sentiments, well-worn catchphrases. The post-Kaepernick P.R. problems of the NFL, too, might have sapped brands’ enthusiasm for making too big a ripple on game day."

Super Bowl commercials have sucked for twenty years now. Too much political correctness, marketing to the lowest forms of life, and ads that have nothing to do with the product. I've seen every SB since 1979, and the commercials get stupider every year. In the last 20 years, I've maybe seen 10-15 ads that were both entertaining and actually helped sell the product.
