I've doctored up some prototypes of what could have maybe been some sensational crazes flying off of toy store shelves in the 1980s. :)

And did you know when it comes to the plush Care Bear Cousins, 4 of them got "lost", just like the Lost Girls??

There were originally 10 Care Bear Cousins (unlike Warren Littlefield, in thise case, there really were 10 ;) ).

Well, here in the US they produced plush versions of 6 of them:



Brave Heart Lion
Lotsa Heart Elephant
Swift Heart Rabbit
Gentle Heart Lamb
Bright Heart Raccoon
Cozy Heart Penguin


But 4 of the original plush Care Bear Cousins got "lost" from their homeland! They weren't made in the US, they were only made in the UK! And, much like Lost Girls fans were outraged that 4 of their girls were unceremoniously cut from the "The Facts of Life", so Cousins fans were similarly outraged that 4 of their Cousins were unceremoniously "lost" from toy stores in the US! (okay, so elementary kids didn't grasp the whole scope of that, but work with me here, I'm going for parallels, lol)


The 4 Cousins that were sadly, frustratingly exclusive to the UK in plush form were:


Proud Heart Cat
Loyal Heart Dog
Playful Heart Monkey
Treat Heart Pig



All 10 of the Cousins were introduced in "The Care Bears Movie", a hit theatrical children's film of 1985, and 3 of the 4 "Lost Cousins" even got "Nancied" in the movie---they didn't get any lines! (of these 4, only Playful Heart Monkey got lines for the movie)


So "The Facts of Life" and the Care Bear Cousins unfortunately share a similar "lost" history---even with the same number of "lostees"!
