Ed Helms is turning 45 today. Helms grew up in Atlanta, and studied at Oberlin College, where he started out as a geology student but ended up majoring in film. He worked in sketch comedy in New York for several years, before joining The Daily Show as a correspondent.
In 2006, Helms joined the cast of NBC’s The Office as Andy Bernard, eventually becoming a regular. During his years on the series, he began getting film roles. In 2009, Helms made his first appearance as Dr. Stuart Price in the Hangover trilogy.

Since then, Helms has been the voice of the Once-ler in The Lorax and had supporting roles in films such as We’re the Millers. He became the fifth actor to play Rusty Griswold in the Vacation franchise, played Kennedy family cousin Joe Gargan in Chappaquiddick, and journalist Tom Snyder in A Futile and Stupid Gesture. He is producing and starring in the upcoming horror comedy Corporate Animals.
