Does anyone know why ME-TV keeps skipping over the 1hr long Twilight Zone episode Miniature?

They also seem to be missing several Cannon episodes from rotation.

Lastly, why don't they show any of the color episodes of Andy Griffith.

Maybe this all has been covered here before but if anyone's got any answers I'd appreciate it.

Because of a pending copyright lawsuit over an earlier script that had been submitted with essentially the same concept, this episode was not included in the syndication package for The Twilight Zone. It was finally re-aired in 1984 as part of The Twilight Zone Silver Anniversary Special. For this showing, the dollhouse scenes were colorized in an early public demonstration of the then-innovative colorization process.

I don't believe that's the case any longer. Sci Fi Channel has aired this episode for years as part of the Twilight Zone airings

Thanks, I refuse to watch TZ on SyFy so I had no idea they had been airing it. I wish the 4th season was available on Netflix , but for some reason it isn't.

Here is the source Wikipedia used (it's several posts down):

IMO this is a dubious source for them, but the poster says the episode is on DVD.
If it's on a commercial DVD I don't think a lawsuit is an issue anymore.

My guess is, if it's not in the syndication package, MeTV simply doesn't have a dub of it. SyFy probably got it any way they could, maybe from the DVD set.

Re TAGS: MeTV has tried the color episodes before. I don't think they have any luck with them. IIRC when they tried them a few summers ago (at a separate time), they made a schedule change and ditched them pretty quickly.

I don't think they're ever tried them in the regular slot, 8-9.

On Cannon, only a guess: MeTV is famous for not getting all the episodes of a series--I don't know why. With the Bob Newhart Show they didn't have season 6 initially. With Hawaii Five O they only had a few seasons.

They showed these last summer, in a Ron Howard hour with Happy Days. It seems that they've decided enough people will watch the B&W episodes to play them in prime time, but not the color ones. I think Sundance has also been skipping the color episodes.

TV Land shows them once in awhile, I think during ratings sweeps (but only in the morning). The reason for that may be that color plays better for ratings.

there's a few reasons why certain episodes of a series aren't shown. I forget all of them but a couple are they're saving certain episodes to show during the holidays or on special occasions, they can't get the rights to certain episodes and I forget the other reasons.

To me, the B&W eps of TAGS are timeless and are good for many, many rewatches but the color ones get old quick and they seem dated.

Sorry if this is off topic but when Me TV & Hallmark had & has the rights to I Love Lucy I don’t remember the Christmas episode airring on Me TV & Hallmark I know every year CBS airs it in color but it would be nice if Me TV would air the Episode in black and white originally intended.

The Reason many fans of The Andy Griffith Show like the B&W episodes because Barney Fife was the regular character prior to Season 6(In which it was the first season that was broadcasted in color).

The 1956 Christmas episode wasn't in the syndication package. I imagine MeTV could get it if they wanted it, though.

As far as The Andy Griffith show goes,I don't think the color episodes do that well whether it's in the ratings or otherwise.Personally I am glad they do not air the color episodes. It is not that they are bad, they are just not that good. They are ok for one viewing but that's it. The black and whites can be watched many times over. They are almost like 2 different shows.

The colour episodes were shown in the mornings in 2015. I was in the hosptial for several weeks and they kept me sane, intil I got sick of them.

The Christmas episode of I Love Lucy is not include in the Syncation Package that MeTV/Decades and Hallmark has I think from what i read before that Lucy and Desi didn't like that episode and they had it remove from the I love lucy package and i think CBS is only one that has the rights to it
