Yeah those early days were fun. Some of the members who I miss are Kay Scarpetta who started out as Lisa Whelchel Forever(Karli). She was only 12 years old then but seemed much older. Others are Mossop, Lacey In The Sky,KittFlynn,Cactus Jack(who had a bunch of different names) Call Me Tootie, Dawsongirl, Jo's The Bomb and a bunch of others.

I also miss isaiahthomas...right now, he'd be responding to my thread "The Cleveland Cavs Worst Team Ever" with a lot of laughs...and he'd also reply to the 0-16 Clowns Season if he had access to a computer in 2017....

Agreed, I'm legitimately confused about that. I've also never seen a suspension last 2+ months.

I always suspected this, but never mentioned it, as I felt Janice wanted us to move on. And I really like Janice, so I wanted to respect that. Janice, was very good to me when I was a newbie here.

The stats only go back to 2005. I don't think we ever had 2000+ daily logged in members. The record is 1262 members logged in on April 1, 2007.

2005-2006 - 500-700
2007-2008 - 400-500
2009-2016 - 300-400
2017-2020 - 300 or less

2141 members have logged in the last 6 months, so we still have a decent amount of activity. Some people may only log in once a week or a few times a month.

Facebook has a very sticky site. The people who are on there generally don't want to leave it.

Unfortunately we don't get many new registrations with people are really active. I think the lower activity is common for many message boards in the last 10-15 years.

Thank you TJ for your words. Yes, my vision has gotten worse. I just signed in for the first time in awhile. I thought the last time I logged in was early January, but it's saying 11/11/2019. That was a shock to me.

I got to see Janice last month. She and Lou could tell in the two years since I lad last been there that my vision was worse. :(

In addition to my vision I'm having a lot of family problems. :(

Yeah, I remember that well although not on here. I remember George Noory on Coast to Coast AM announced John's death at like 12:30am and I just sat there STUNNED! I thought he got the name wrong because John was still young & not even sick!

Also I remember Nick @ Nite had a tribute to John and at least 24 hours in a row of TC! Antenna or MeTV didn't exist back then. TV Land did and they did a tribute to John too.

There's one member I miss dearly. Not so much because of his posts on here, but because we had a personal online friendship. I think his name on here was Josh9125 or something similar. He had a few different names because he got banned. He was just a teenager back then and was always causing trouble. But we had so much in common and chatted almost daily back in the days of AOL Instant Messenger. We lost touch over the years, and sadly I found his obituary online a while back. He was just a couple years younger than me. So sad.

Like it says, it’s two Valeries. More specifically, Valerie Harper (on left) and Valerie Bertinelli (on right). It’s from Bertinelli’s “Hot in Cleveland” days several years back... I believe Harper guested on HIC at least once. They had a little “Mary Tyler Moore” reunion on HIC, before both MTM and Harper died (2017 and 2019, respectively). Super talented... she is missed! Harper managed to live to see her 80th birthday before she died. :)

Many reasons. Some just "move on" from the internet or sudden life changing situations make them. As sad as it may sound, people also pass away.

It has been my experience, from here and on other forums, that those who truly leave a forum make no announcements and are just gone. Some do post a Farewell/Goodbye thread and are sincere about it, but not the majority.

I remember Isaiahthomas, I liked him. But yeah sometimes people pass away and we never know. I saw this on another board, there was someone who always posted and they were cool posters. All of a sudden nothing then a few months later it was revealed they died.

I hope everything is ok with her. She was a good member on the sitcom boards. Her behavior had changed in the last year probably due to the pandemic. She just needs to stop making everything political and acting like a troll.

I'm not sure which Janice we're talking about here...but as far as those getting caught up in the as you call it bile, some of us have Strong opinions and voice them. Many around here say nothing. I like fire in the belly when appropriate.

A number of things probably caused OH Nuts to quit posting. I remember him mentioning that the site hasn’t been the same since Janice vanishing, and I suppose the Politics board possibly played a slight part in him leaving as well.

To circle this thread back to its original intent, when I first joined there was a member whose name I believe was Madelyn (I'm not sure if this was the exact spelling) and she possibly also went by Maddie. I just don't remember her user name here, and she probably also changed it multiple times. Anyway, she was a HUGE Martina McBride fan back then and actually encouraged me to join SO. I haven't seen her around here (or in the Martina fan world) in AGES, but whatever she's doing with her life I hope she's happy and hopefully still a Martina fan. :)
