Yesterday I had ONE Winston, ONE Camel, & ONE Newport cigarette. So only three cigarettes for the ENTIRE day and I hadn't smoked in about a WEEK so it's really about 3 cigarettes a WEEK!

Am I light smoker or what?? :p

Who else here smokes even if rarely? And what do you smoke?

Come on! You're talking about CHAIN smokers. Drinking is far worse than smoking! Plus I'm an exercise FANATIC & that adds YEARS to your life!

Smoking while driving doesn't kill people like drunk driving does!

I've been smoking cigars since I was about 19-20. My father's been smoking cigars most of his life and I got into them from him.

Favs. are CAO, Partagas, Rocky Patel, Camacho, Drew Estate.

From the cheaper brands I love the Black & Mild since those are pipe tobacco.

I also smoke Djarum clove cigars; I like all of them except for cherry flavored.

I also like going to hookah cafes. I tried vaping a couple of times just to try it, but didn't get into it. I've never been into cigarettes, though of the ones I've tried my fav. has to be CAMEL.

LOL...I don't smoke DURING exercise. Plus I'm such a light smoker it really makes no difference. Remember most days of the week I do NOT smoke.

Besides, I need healthy lungs for bicycling.

But don't you see how much better it is to be a light smoker? I only smoke a few cigarettes 1 or 2 days a week. A cigar on rare occasions. At 2 packs a day you smoked more in just 1 year than I have in almost 20 YEARS!

I got my lungs checked recently and my oxygen capacity is at 100% with a perfect chest X-Ray too!

No, he is absolutely right. You can not defend cigarettes! Even ONE cigarette is one too many. I smoke about 3 cigarettes per day and even I know it is bad for me. It is an improvement though. I used to smoke about a pack per day. I wish I didn't smoke at all. It is a HORRIBLE addiction that may cause cancer no matter how many cigarettes you smoke. I had no problem at all giving up drinking as I was never addicted to alcohol, but I admit that I am addicted to cigarettes. It is a filthy, unhealthy and expensive habit.

I say good for "Fleet" and he is not falling for any agenda. He is 100 percent correct.

There is no defense for smoking. Smoking is bad. The End.

I smoked for 23 years. (started at age 17)I quit cold turkey at age 40.The first 2 months were torture but I got through it. It took me about 2 years to stop the craving. The best thing I ever did. It is said that nicotine addiction withdrawl is almost equal to heroin addiction. I haven't had a cigarette since I quit. The thought of being a slave to cigarettes is very unappealing, especially the cost of the habit.

I smoked a very little bit in my teens and my 20's ! Just a few a day at the most!;) Mainly because friends or boyfriends I was with smoked . I never really enjoyed it that much so it wasn't really hard for me to quit!;) Glad because cigarettes became so expensive! Also both my Husbands were similar to me with smoking cigarettes ( could take it or leave it) !

Now alcohol and coffee are a whole different story!! Both of them ARE things I like and would be hard to give them up!!

And I won't lie , I liked my weed back in the day ! :D A lot more fun to smoke than cigarettes !!

Alcohol kills 80,000 people a year alone in the U.S.!! Does that mean you'll die if have a couple of beers or drinks once or twice a week?? NO!

The same way it won't kill you if you have a couple cigarettes a couple days a week! NOW you understand?

What I mean as to being a slave is the panic I felt when I would run out of cigarettes or forget them when I went away. Or being in a place where I couldn't smoke. It's all I could think about. I couldn't have a good time without smoking. If that isn't slavery (yes ,addiction) then what is?

And it isn't about pushing a liberal agenda! Or conservative, for that matter! There are plenty of liberals and conservatives out there who have been able to quit smoking and to them there is nothing political about it! I have been completely 100% nicotine/smoke free since May 20th. It is quite difficult as there is not one day that I don't miss smoking, but I will never go back to it. Experts say that nicotine addiction is just as severe as heroin addiction. I have no idea what heroin is like, thank goodness. Both are deadly and both ruin lives. The OP thinks that it's okay to have just one or a few cigarettes per day which is horse crap. Cigarettes are cancer sticks. Just one is one too many. And during this pandemic, lung functions could be compromised, so cigarette smoking is even more stupid.

Whenever things get tough, remember all of the money you are saving by not smoking. If you smoked a pack a day, on average, you would be costing yourself $2,555.00 per year. That's more than the price of a two-week trip to the Bahamas.

That REALLY depends on the person. I read one report that said 70% of people have an addictive personality. You CLEARLY do.

I, on the other hand, clearly do NOT. I started this thread close to 2 years ago but I've not smoked in MONTHS! I don't find smoking REMOTELY addictive. I've not drank alcohol since last year. I very rarely drink at all.

It's not that I've quit smoking it's just that I've just not felt like it in MONTHS. I'll probably puff on a cigar and/or some cigs around the holidays.

My sister quit smoking for 2 months using Chantix. Well some idiot told her that she could still smoke occasionally. Well she's back smoking and has COPD and has to use an inhaler regularly. She has been hospitalized 3 times for chronic bronchitis. She still has not quit. She is a nurse who works on the respiratory wing of the hospital and has seen what smoking can do.To me her cigarettes are her lover and there's nothing I can do about it. She rarely comes to my house because she can't smoke. It's damn pathetic! I quit smoking over 20 years ago cold turkey. It was rough for a couple of months but I never smoked again. Cigarette packs go for $12.00 and up in NYC. Most of that money is taxed.

It used to be only for cigarettes, but they went and got other tobacco (cigars) as well later on. A pack of those Black & Mild's used to be $5.00 and now I've seen some stores sell them for $16.50

Though they shouldn't, some stores I go to sell "under the table" if they know you. NYC can no longer sell single-wrapped Black & Mild's, but some stores still sell for $1.00 each.

One pack a week isn't very much, that would be like 3 cigs a day. But still your clothes & hair gets that stale smoke smell. I've dealt with it for years from my husband's family and now my son. They should make better smelling cigarettes. Some cigars & pipe tobacco have a nice aroma.
If my husband smoked I guess I'd have to live it but he'd be joining my son on the patio every time he lit up. :)

Man, that's some high dollar cigarettes. If my son had to shell out that kind of money, he'd probably have to quit. Cigars are roughly a dollar a piece here. You can buy single wrapped cigars or small boxes of them. My husband's niece gets the singles so she can get different flavors. I don't think she smokes Black & Mild's.

A few years ago, NYC banned the sale of flavored tobacco w/ the exception of menthol and mint. We can't (legally) purchase vanilla, chocolate, coffee... etc... from stores though we can purchase them from online retailers. Those single, cheap machine-made cigars used to be a dollar, but now we have to buy packs since NYC banned the sale of single-wrapped.

There is a technical loophole, but cigars that are "fusion" are exempt from the flavored ban. Those are brands like ACID. Around the time just before the pandemic, NYC banned the sale of flavored vapes.

ACID cigarillos are the best around. They come in green, red, & blue packaging. I think the green & red are the best.

Some say they taste a little like marijuana because they use a lot of botanicals to make them.

I enjoy the ACID Blondie, I think they are blue wrapped.

I think that's the loophole as they add spices to them so it's not regarded as a specific flavor.

I smoked for the first time in around 6 MONTHS last Thursday!

I had 2 Untamed Green Acid Cigarillos, 3 Decade Silver cigarettes, 3 Newport menthols, & 1 Tabak Frenchi mini-cigars. The Green Untamed Acid cigarillos are definitely the best of the bunch.

Yet I've not smoked since!
