I've been watching the 1987-89 show Hooperman (John Ritter plays Harry Hooperman, a San Francisco cop). Some interesting Three's Company connections/coincidences:
1. Norman Fell plus a lot of TC guest stars show up, like Joanna Kerns (who wanted to have Jack's baby) and Rod McCary (who played Janet's pushy flower-shop date and also Jack's slimy Navy buddy).
2. Susan Smith, Hooperman's love interest in Season 1, looks a lot like short-haired Janet Wood. (Smith is played by Debrah Farentino.)
3. The major side-plot throughout the series is that Hooperman inherits an apartment building and becomes a landlord!
4. There's a plot where Hooperman is caught with a perp in a compromising position that almost exactly imitates the situation between Jack and Gloria (Fatty Four-Eyes) in "Larry's Bride."
5. Another similarity: there's a Hooperman episode titled "Some of That Jazz," and according to IMDB this episode title only appears in Three's Company and Hooperman, no other series.
Hooperman is really different from TC but I enjoyed it a lot. If you are a John Ritter fan I recommend watching it.
