Do you tip EXTRA on Xmas Eve, Xmas Day, New Year’s Eve, or New Year’s Day?

For Xmas Eve and especially Xmas Day I usually tip 30%, my logic being they should get at least time and a half (Outside of Holidays, for adequate service I usually just double the NYC tax which comes to a little under 18%.). New Year’s Eve/Day I usually do 25%.

Just curious what others do....

(Of course phenomenal service gets bumped up, bad/mediocre service down)

The tipping should be 15% of your total bill. I recently went out to eat with a good friend of mine. The total bill was $30....which would be $4.50 tip.....but I tipped the guy/waiter $5.00 because he was cute...LOL

If it's good service, I always tip 20%, without question. If it's exceptional service, I'll tip between 22-25%. I don't tip more around the holidays and I rarely go below 20%. The service has to be awful for me to go below twenty.

I tip 15%. If the waitress is very attentive, I give 20%. Much has to do with the place I go to. With take out places, a few pieces of coin just so I don't have to fumble putting the coins into my pocket. We aren't required to tip at all. Unfortunately serve staff are only paid a pittance less than state or federal minimun wage so to help them out we tip. So sad
