I read an article about The Andy Griffith Show that Howard McNear who played the town barber Floyd was about the same as his character. he wasnt acting, it was just him as a character, according to the other players on the show.

Nick Offerman of Parks and Recreation. Although not politically like Ron and likes pot (Ron thought pot was for morons in an episode with the meeting with the other park directors), Nick brought a lot of his character to his own personal interests, such as wood working, general mechanics and Laugavulen Scotch.

I think probably Ray Ramano was pretty similar to Ray Barone. Family man. Northeasterner. The show is sort of a fictionalized version of his life or his life would be in that reality.

Tim Allen somewhat. I think Tim Allen is a little bit like Tool Time. He is mechanically inclined and could actually use tools and machinery much like Nick Offerman and this was really the basis of his start in comedy.

Maybe John Goodman. Goodman playing various degrees of himself. He has played a lot of different characters which are much different than himself in real life but the Dan Conner character is somewhat similar to what he is.

Sort of conjecture since we really dont know these people. But I think some people are very similar to their most famous roles, although some people are the direct opposite. Carroll O'Connor, Sherman Helmsley, and Patrick Stewart are some examples of this.

Discuss.

Charlie Harper/Charlie Sheen, Two and a Half Men. Carbon copy. Easy acting for him.

John Larroquette in The John Larroquette Show

His character was a recovering alcoholic just like in real life.

I've always thought (with no real basis for it) that Ray Romano was just like Raymond Barone on Everybody Loves Raymond.

Leah Remini. She was kind of the caustic/brash in role on Saved By The Bell, King of Queens and then drew criticism for being similar on The Talk first season.
