DeadlyToolTime 12-27-2018, 01:40 AM I pass. I was never a fan of them airing movies. I remember watching a couple of movies on the channel like the first Ghostbusters, Jumanji, Quicksilver, Watermelon Man and the first two Look Who's Talking movies. Something about it felt out of place to me plus they felt like schedule filter. Then I remember one time they aired the direct to DVD sequel to Baby Geniuses from 2005, which was just really bizarre and questionable. BigManMike 12-27-2018, 07:52 AM I never cared for any of their movies. But at least the credits weren’t crunched then. So if bringing back movies would eliminate the credit crunch on all the shows they have then I would be for it. Greenbeans 12-27-2018, 12:04 PM I'll pass. They can't compete with the streaming services when it comes to movies. Their strength is TV shows which haven't hit streaming yet, such as "Coach" and "Alice". I just wish they'd cut down on the commercials. It seems like they run twice as many as MeTV. AMackII 12-27-2018, 12:14 PM Antenna TV have aired Movies at the time during their early years but its very impossible for them right now to once again to air films. stevea 12-27-2018, 12:29 PM Please...no! PhoenixAcres 12-27-2018, 09:04 PM I have vague memories of them running movies in the morning. None of them really appealed to me, and they ate up all the morning slots. 1960'sTVfan 12-27-2018, 09:17 PM I could be wrong but if my memory is correct, when Antenna TV was a newer channel they ran the Boston Blackie movies with Chester Morris. If Antenna would start showing movies again, I think a good fit for them would be the Blondie movies with Arthur Lake and Penny Singleton. They could show one movie per week on Saturday mornings. favoriteshow 12-27-2018, 10:30 PM This TV is for movies. Typically if one can get Antenna TV, one can get This TV as well. There is also Movies! OH Nuts! 12-27-2018, 11:46 PM I could be wrong but if my memory is correct, when Antenna TV was a newer channel they ran the Boston Blackie movies with Chester Morris. If Antenna would start showing movies again, I think a good fit for them would be the Blondie movies with Arthur Lake and Penny Singleton. They could show one movie per week on Saturday mornings. Blonde would be a great choice. Or the Eastside kids. And a Saturday Matinee would do quite nicely. 1960'sTVfan 12-28-2018, 10:48 AM Blonde would be a great choice. Or the Eastside kids. And a Saturday Matinee would do quite nicely. East Side Kids would be good too. I don't think Antenna would air the Bowery Boys because as far as I know Turner Classic Movies has the rights to air those. In 1999, a company called Bridgestone Multimedia released all 28 Blondie movies on VHS cassettes. I have the full collection and I'm glad I have these because the tapes are long out of print and getting difficult to find. I have all the East Side Kids and Bowery Boys movies, most of them are airings recorded from TV. I recorded many of them myself from WGN Chicago in the 1980's. WGN aired 16mm prints of the movies and they have a nostalgic/retro look to them. icecream 12-28-2018, 11:16 AM I would not want movies to be a big presence on the schedule like they used to. But moves of TV shows would be good, like the Growing Pains sequel movies and the Family Ties vacation movie that is not part of the package Antenna airs. |
