In Beaver’s Baby Picture Wally comes in with a rusty old birdcage and said he got it from Mr. McGregor’s trash. Is there another time he brings home a birdcage because someone posted it was from Mr. Thompson. If not we can scratch that Thompson.

Also I never knew mail was that quick. Did June overnight the baby picture to Miss Landers? Why not drop it off at school? Can you imagine if she walked into the classroom and stuck it on the bulletin board in front of all the kids?

It might have been that quick in 1959, since it probably didn't have to go to a large, central automated sorting facility. Today it probably would have had to first go to Bellport or Riverside to be sorted, marked with a bar code, and returned to Mayfield to be delivered two or three days later.
ISTR another bird cage later, but not which episode.
I wonder if June ever found out that Ward cut up the picture. W&J talk about the picture in the final episode but I think they got some details wrong, as usual (the biggest errors they made in that episode were consistently screwing up what grade Beaver was in, in virtually every flashback.)
Today I noticed some inconsistencies with the scooter. In the first episode I thought Wally ended up with it, but in the second episode they said Tooey had it (I know we've talked about that before.)

Tooey bought it for 75 cents in Beaver Takes a Walk and the boys work on it. I think they own it together because he asks June if she would take it to the store. In Borrowed Boat Ward tells June that Wally bought it for $2 from Tooey and knows someone who will buy it for $4. When the cop calls June thinks it’s about the scooter.

Also in Borrowed Boat it's interesting how W&J (and the Mondellos) just let the 2 of them go to Friends Lake Park, where they could get actually take a boat out alone. June even said it was closed for the season now. And the Mondellos and Cleavers know these boys have a knack for getting in trouble. Just seems like it was a bad decision to let them go alone (and other than the boat thieves the WERE alone.)
And this is apart from our previous discussions about the location of Friends Lake not being close to home.

They also cut out the part where Larry and Beaver are rowing in the lake and disagree who should be the galley slave and who is the master. Wonder who decides what will be edited. Sometimes they play a scene between W&J that could be cut, but I like seeing Ward.
I also can’t believe they got to go to Friends Lake alone. Did they walk? Bus?

Yes, we've talked about how far Friends Lake is said to be in other episodes.

Crystal Falls is not consistent with the distance, 60 miles or 3 hours by bus but we always knew you had to drive to Friends Lake like in Wally’s Dream Girl and Beaver and Violet. Too bad Larry and Beaver didn’t just go to Miller’s Pond. Although Miller’s Pond was really small.
Hey in Wally, the Lifeguard Wally needs to grab a bus up there. It has to be close if you are going to work there so maybe Larry and Beaver grabbed a bus. They did wind up in a Mayfield police station.
