"Detroiters" Canceled after Two Seasons on Comedy Central
by Denise Petski
December 11, 2018

There will be no third season for "Detroiters". Co-creator and star Sam Richardson revealed Comedy Central’s cancellation of the sitcom on Twitter, but suggested it would be shopped and could get picked up elsewhere.

“Sadly, @Detroiters won’t be picked up for a season 3 at Comedy Central,” Richardson wrote. “I want to thank everyone who watched and supported the show. It was a dream to make and I’m proud that those who did see it enjoyed it. Maybe it will find a home elsewhere, who knows? But truly, thank you.”

Seth Meyers writes a plea to "Save Detroiters" (https://www.vulture.com/2018/12/seth-meyers-loves-detroiters.html)

The Late Night host, writing for Vulture, calls the canceled Comedy Central series -- co-created and co-starring his former SNL colleague Tim Robinson -- "the most brilliantly stupid show on TV." Meyers writes: "There are so many wonderful comedies on television today. Shows that present new and interesting perspectives and make you think about the world in ways you never have before. Detroiters was not one of those shows. Detroiters was an old-school cackler. The only thing it ever made me think was, 'I can’t remember the last time I laughed this hard at a television show.'"
