The Voice coach's decision to support 14-year-old Strange, even though she was too sick to perform, at the expense of his other teammates resulted in a torrent of angry comments (https://www.washingtonpost.com/arts-entertainment/2018/12/05/shame-adam-levine-voice-fans-are-furious-after-this-weeks-bizarre-elimination/). As Charlie Mason notes, "the whole debacle could have been avoided if only the series had had in place a rule stating that, if a contestant can’t go on, they’ve gotta go. Done. Finito.
