I heard on the news a few minutes ago that due to former President George H.W. Bush's memorial and funeral service that there will be a National Day Of Mourning and the news mentioned that post offices and government offices will be closed but one thing that the news mentioned that has me confused that they said would be closed would be stores and malls and so i'm wondering if malls and stores will be closed on Wednesday?

Highly unlikely in the weeks leading up to Christmas...

Why would private businesses be closed on a government holiday?? That would mean everything is closed!

George HW Bush was a wonderful man but unless this country felt warmth is better than money, businesses aren't closing their business for a presidents death.

They have the choice to close or not. The stock market is closing but banks are not. It's not a Union holiday either.

Maybe in DC they'll close. I'm in NYC and I doubt anything will close.
