Beginning Friday, December 14, 2018 I will be doing something I’ve wanted to do for a long time but never got around to...I’ll be recreating ABC’s TGIF Friday night schedules with my DVD collection.

Each Friday I’ll be watching the same exact episodes that aired years ago in the same blocks.

The 1993/1994, 1994/1995, 1995/1996, and 1996/1997 seasons are my favorites so those will be the ones I do first then if I want to move forward, I will.


Up first is the 1993/1994 season. This season saw the premiere of “Boy Meets World”. “Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper” began its 2nd season by moving to Friday nights. “Family Matters” was starting its 5th season and “Step by Step” its 3rd season. This season of TGIF is very special to me and it will always remain a huge part of my life.

If a night originally contained a repeat episode and it’s unknown to me which one it was, a favorite episode will be chosen by me. If a series aired that I do not own on DVD, I’ll replace it with one of my favorite episodes from a show that aired that night. If all 4 shows aired repeats that night, that week will be skipped.

Obviously, my DVDs don’t include commercials so I’ll begin at 8pm with the first show then take a break and start the next show at 8:30pm...and so on.

I was 10 (turned 11 in December) when the 1993/1994 season premiered and it was probably the happiest slice of my life (so far).
