Diff'rent Strokes star Todd Bridges was knocked out in an altercation with a neighbor.

The 53-year-old was helping a friend evict a tenant when he was sucker punched in the head.

Security footage obtained by TMZ (http://www.tmz.com/2018/11/26/todd-bridges-diffrent-strokes-knocked-out-punched-neighbor/) shows the actor confronting someone off camera in a heated exchange before his head snaps back, sending him crashing to the floor.

The site claimed it was the woman's boyfriend who threw the blow.

The alleged assailant fled the scene, but no police report was filed.

The former child star told the site: 'No one likes to be sucker punched, but I am glad that I was there to help my neighbor, who was faced with a potentially dangerous situation.'

He added: 'Much rather it was me, and not my neighbor.'

Bridges played Willis Jackson — older brother of the late Gary Coleman's Arnold — in the hit family comedy Diff'rent Strokes for all eight seasons.

The father-of-two has lead a troubled life since leaving the show, becoming addicted to crack cocaine in his 20s.

In 1989 he was arrested and tried for the attempted murder of an LA drug dealer — and was represented by high-profile defense attorney Johnnie Cochran — but was acquitted.

During a 2010 appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show, Bridges revealed he had been sexually abused at age 11 by a publicist and family friend.

In August, DailyMail.com revealed Bridges had accused two of his ex-girlfriends of concocting a 'plot' to ruin his career and poison his dog.

However the women accused him of being 'delusional' and 'paranoid' and upset over being dumped, and that he had threatened one of them with a crossbow and a taser.

Bridges has dozens of TV and film credits to his name post Diff'rent Strokes — mostly independent productions; his most recent high-profile TV role was a recurring one as Monk in Everybody Hates Chris, from 2007 and 2009.
