Occasionally, I'll see old sitcoms that used play money instead of real money (US Currency). Was there a law that forbade real money to be shown on TV or did they not trust the actors?

I've always wondered that too, lol. I think maybe they just felt play money was easier? I really don't know.

...it WAS forbidden to use real cash!

WoW pontoon Great site! I always thought they had real money. Sometimes I use to notice when the actors did have a wad of money, it would look like a bunch of dollar bills in their hands as oppose to 10's, 20's or more.......... :lol:
