While Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis were happy to be in supporting roles, King says that Cattrall felt that she and her character Samantha Jones was as popular Parker and Carrie Bradshaw. “Kim fought and said, ‘I’m everyone’s favorite,'” King said. “Sarah Jessica said, ‘Yeah, that’s why the show worked, you were certain people’s favorites, they loved you. Certain people loved Kristin and people liked Cynthia but you were the favorite and that’s why the show worked.
