View Full Version : Nick @ Nite is slowly being phased out? FHCastmember 11-06-2018, 02:27 PM Seems like it Svenfan1234 11-06-2018, 03:26 PM We can only hope so. tenter 11-06-2018, 03:28 PM Seems like it Where did you get that idea from? Please clarify with details what you're really saying Merry24 11-06-2018, 09:44 PM Why has ownership/Management not been taking care of nick@niTe? Why just 3 shows? How can this lengthy commercial time be ok by FCC? On any Viacom Channel. stevea 11-06-2018, 10:56 PM Nick at Nite appears to be struggling, but I think it's not being phased out. Maybe things will settle with new leadership. BTW cable content, including ad time, isn't regulated by the FCC. Merry24 11-06-2018, 11:10 PM Stevea I hope your right. Do you know who does regulate it? stevea 11-06-2018, 11:26 PM Over the air channels are licensed by the FCC, but cable generally is only regulated by local government. But I don't think local governments get into the details of programming, ad time, etc. Nick at Nite has a storied past, and really has been so, so good, and creative. Now there's no room for creative stuff. Maybe things will turn around. Merry24 11-06-2018, 11:35 PM I agree it was very creative! I hope the creativity will Return! Thanks for the info. Tubehead 11-07-2018, 10:07 PM i hadn't watch nick at night in years!! I did watch it for several months for the goldbergs! then they moved them to 6:00 am i stopped watching!! ! other then that i don't watch it! I also watched it when they showed hanging with mr cooper then they put it on 6:00 am! Merry24 11-07-2018, 11:43 PM Just throwing it out there. Do you think Viacom-Brian Robbins should tap Marc Summers to help Manage Nick at Nite? Marc Summers is a baby boomer and knows what the TV Generation enjoys.(I Love Lucy, Leave It To Beaver, The Brady Bunch). Marc Summers helped raise the parents of today with his game shows on Nickelodeon and got to identify with that generation.(Full House, Saved By The Bell, Home Improvement). Now Marc Summers is doing it again with his Double Dare reboot and Double Dare tours for the current generation. (Spongebob, Jake Paul Videos, Movies). This makes me think Marc Summers would be the perfect person to help Mr.Robbins manage Nick at Nite. He can identify with the past generation the current generation and now the future generation. Marc Summers it’s time for you to help to reboot Nick at Nite. By bringing all these generations together on Nick at Nite? On your mark get set go!!! MA 11-08-2018, 08:14 AM They should bring back some of the old shows that used to be on there. tenter 11-14-2018, 11:12 AM Just throwing it out there. Maybe you can ask Marc Summers on twitter if you want Marc Summers to take over Nick at Nite. He will definitely respond to you on twitter. But IMO i think it's time to ask former N@N manager to oversee N@N. But as far as restructuring goes, I wouldn't be surprised if therell be new rebrand or N@N will shut down in future Merry24 11-14-2018, 11:26 AM I’ve read that Brian Robbins is considering bringing back All That with Kenan & Kel The Amanda Show. It wasn’t specified if he wants it on teen nick-the Splat or nick nick@niTe. Or if he’s thinking reboots or just the original. He was referring these shows as some of his favorite shows. Thanks for the heads up on Marc Summers.Hopefully someone will ask. James28 11-15-2018, 02:05 PM Nick at Nite has become such a boring channel, I don't think anyone would care if it actually was being phased-out. The block's unwillingness to add reruns of fresh shows isn't helping matters, either. tenter 11-16-2018, 05:40 PM https://www.viacom.com/news/viacom-earnings-q4-2018 Well... according to this article, it seems that Viacom will try to strengthen N@N lineup, and expected to see Nickelodeon/N@N gains expected by half of 2019.. I don't know why they're not removing N@N block. But if they are going to improve N@N, they need to stop airing SpongeBob. Move George Lopez back to TVLand. Acquire more better shows that are worth watching like Modern Family, The Middle, The Big Bang Theory If airing Double Dare on N@N then it's fine. But these are just my suggestions. MA 11-16-2018, 05:46 PM Get rid of SpongeBob and bring back the old shows that used to be on the block. Coffeecup 11-16-2018, 10:09 PM I haven't been a avid watcher of Nick at Night since the mid 90's. To me they have aimed it at the young kids. stevea 11-16-2018, 10:23 PM Their change several months ago in the 9:00 hour probably was to pull kids from CN, which abandons kids at that time. But the rest of N@N certainly isn't what you'd call kid-friendly. Merry24 11-17-2018, 09:46 AM I don’t understand why NICK at NITE doesn’t go back to the Classic TV format. (50’s-70’s). This is something Kids and Adults both enjoy. tenter 11-17-2018, 10:46 AM I don’t understand why NICK at NITE doesn’t go back to the Classic TV format. (50’s-70’s). This is something Kids and Adults both enjoy. Because N@N is no longer classic block anymore, as it was since the 90s. This is 2018, and N@N just needs to acquire better modern shows this time family friendly. Modern Family is an example of it. Antenna TV and MeTV if you want to watch classic shows. Since reboots are popular. Why not reboot NICK at NITE? stevea 11-17-2018, 01:12 PM I'd like to see My Three Sons on the weekend schedule, which they played for years in the 80s and 90s. They played all the shows without edits and logos. Even without My Three Sons, that schedule is great! As I said in another post, they may need to start thinking about skewing their schedules toward slightly older people. All the younger people are cutting the cord. Merry24 11-17-2018, 01:50 PM Steve A That’s really a good point!! A lot of the young generation is not the TV Generation it’s I’m going to go binge watch Netflix. You are so right! MrCleveland 11-17-2018, 01:53 PM N@N now has competition...since people are cutting cable and others have a converter box with stations that play classic shows...N@N must find a way to get people back and not be corporate...but once you go corporate...you don't go back supposedly... Impressions 11-17-2018, 04:47 PM Honestly, I say get rid of the block. Having shows on there that are currently airing defeats the original intention of the block. Granted, I haven't watched it since the early '00s and no longer have cable, but it's sad to see what this block has become. Put an end to it. stevea 11-17-2018, 07:29 PM N@N now has competition...since people are cutting cable and others have a converter box with stations that play classic shows...N@N must find a way to get people back and not be corporate...but once you go corporate...you don't go back supposedly... Their suits ought to watch an aircheck from 20-25 years ago. All the creativity and innovation they'd see is all sucked out, now. I'd sure like an aircheck from then. There are some shows they had that I really regret not recording. And they showed them unedited back then. And around 1997 is when the corporate model started to get strong...I work somewhere that's now corporate...and it sucks! |
