(In the Kramden apartment, Ralph opens up a letter that contains an absentee ballot. Ed comes in with a letter that contains his absentee ballot.)

Ed: "Whaddaya say Ralph?"

Ralph: "Good thing that they invented absentee ballots because I do not feel like walking down to vote."

Ed: "Yeah, you might waste away to a blimp."

(Ralph rolls his eyes.)

Ralph: "Mid-term elections. Only two more years before the Presidential elections."

Ed: "I don't know who to vote for. I didn't study for this test."

Ralph: "If you don't know, just take a guess."

Ed: "Okay."

(They sit down to fill out the ballots. Ed "warms up" for about one minute.)

Ralph (slapping Norton on the back, yells): "COME ON!"

Ed: "I'm warming up in the bullpen."

Ralph: "Take a look at some of the names here. I hope that they don't throw a temper tantrum if and when they lose."

Ed: "I know that you would."

Ralph (yells): "OOOOOOOOOOOH, YOU ARE GOING TO GET IT NORTON!"

Ed: "I think that this guy will win. I think that this guy over here will win. Boy, this is fun."

Ralph: "Try to take this seriously Norton. Remember, the whole country is depending upon us two."

Ed: "Well, I am finished."

Ralph: "Let me take a look at that."

(Ralph does.)

Ralph: "Norton, with the answers you gave, you made the letter N. I guess that that N stands for 'nut.' It was if you didn't give a second of thought for your answers."

Ed: "I suppose you did. Did you?"

Ralph: "Errr...ummm....haminahamina...Never mind about me."

Ed: "Let's go to the Post Office. I know of a really, really fast way to get there. We will use the sewer. I know of the manhole that pops right in front of the Post Office."

(Ralph rolls his eyes.)

Ed: "Wait a minute, you may not fit through the manhole."

Ralph (yells): "OOOOOH...YOU ARE GOING TO TO GET IT NORTON!"

Ed: "Let's go."

(As they leave, they sing a song about Election Day.)

(Jackie walks on stage. Crowd cheers.)

Jackie: "Thank you. GOOD NIGHT!"

(Crowd cheers.)
