Tonight I have to go to a recital and I'll have to tape it. Hopefully it will come out. Ziggy 07-20-2002, 01:36 AM That article shows the most guest star appearances, Charo 7 times, Audra Lindley 5 times, Maureen McCormick 4 times, I think Juliet Mills tied with Audra Lindley for 5 times because she was in 5 that I can think of: "The Secret Life of Burl Smith/ Tug of War" "A Time for Everything/ The Song Has Ended/ Anoushka" "April's Love/ Happy Ending/ We Three" "Hollywood Royalty/ The Caper/ Masquerade" "Phantom Bride/ Vicki Swings" So Audra is not the winner after all... -BIGGEST LOVE BOAT FAN EVER!!! ABC1 07-23-2002, 08:56 PM Elaine Joyce was another actress who appeared in several episodes of this show. She portrayed Dawn Delany in "The Nubile Nurse", and played the wife of Doc's brother as well, in "He's my brother". She also was in an episode that involved Gopher wanting to quit to run a hotel in the first or second season, I think. I don't know much about Elaine Joyce, but I do know that I enjoyed the episodes that she did appear in. I'm wondering how much longer TV Land will be carrying The Love Boat...the September schedule should be coming out soon. I wish I could find someone who had the series on videotape...I have a lot of episodes, but there are still some that I wish I had. Ziggy 07-23-2002, 11:07 PM I'm wondering how long TV Land will be carrying The Love Boat...the September schedule should be coming out soon. Not to worry, it's picked up for the next four years because the ratings are so high !!! The only bad thing is, I think they'll still only be showing episodes 1 - 5. I personally would like at least just once to see the ones from seasons 6 - 9. I wish I could find someone who had the whole series on tape too. BTW, David Hedison was another actor who appeared often - at least 3 times that I can think of, as Julie's ex-boyfriend Buddy in "Julie's Old Flame", as a wealthy man who falls for Leslie Uggams in an episode from the fourth season, and with Juliet Mills as her ex- husband in the episode "Tug of War". ABC1 07-24-2002, 11:37 AM I'm still trying to figure out how to use quotes on this site, but I do have to just say how thrilled I am that we'll have The Love Boat around for awhile. Four years? Wow. I would like to know how high the ratings for The Love Boat actually are. I also wish TV Land would get seasons six through nine. That way I'd be able to complete my collection of episodes. I think I have about 155 on tape so far, but there's still one that I haven't been able to track down. It's one that guest starred Rue McLanahan and Dick Van Patten. I don't even know the name of the episode, but she played Laura, and he was George. Ziggy 07-25-2002, 05:51 PM I think The Love Boat is in the top 4 or 5 of all of TV Land's shows! It's right up in the same group as Andy Griffith and I Love Lucy! :) You have 155 episodes? Wow, that's a lot! I don't think I have quite that many yet. I'm not sure I remember the one with Dick Van Patten and Rue McLanahan. I only remember the episode where Dick Van Patten was a politician who had been in a scandal, and then later, when he played Captain Stubing's friend from New York. There are some episodes I'm trying to track down too, and it seems like TV Land keeps skipping the same ones each time around. Have you noticed this at all? Like I don't think I've ever seen "Aunt Sylvia", the one where Carol Channing played Julie's Aunt, and a few others too. :bye: P.S. I don't know how to quote entire paragraphs either, just sentences. ABC1 07-26-2002, 01:31 PM It's really gratifying to know that The Love Boat, even after all these years is still able to maintain a fan base. The show was cancelled in 1985 (?) and thanks to reruns, the show never really disappears. I finally figured out what episode that starred Dick Van Patten I want. It was from the seventh season--so at this time, TV Land doesn't have it. The title was How Do I love Thee, No more Alimony and one other story that I can't remember. I guess I'll just keep trying to see if anyone has this particular episode. I just wish Columbia House would pick up the series--but with 255 episodes, I doubt they'd pick up the whole thing, but other series (like MASH) is now available--so I keep hoping that someday The Love Boat (or other Aaron Spelling shows) will be available on DVD. :) |
