In the past, I have written about a local network here in New Jersey that shows a lot of classic TV shows in syndication. I do not think that they ever syndicated "Gimme a Break!", but they have shown a lot of programs that were popular with the same generation of viewers. At seven o'clock tomorrow morning, they are showing an episode of "Different Strokes" called "Kathy". The thing that I clearly remember about this episode is that is was originally shown right before the "Gimme a Break!" episode known as the "Emergency". This was the first episode of this series that I saw in its entirely. Because of the degree to which I fell in love with the "your purse, your purse" line, I have a very vivid memory of this experience. I am now going to go over to the "Different Strokes" page and tell my buddies there about having posted here.

I think I remember a post by you about that topic. Did you like that particular episode? When you saw it for the first time, was it in prime-time or in syndication. When I saw it for the first time, it was the first showing of that episode. It was on NBC prime-time again that summer before it went into syndication.

I agree that it was very well done. What did you think of the comic relief of Nell's interactions with the busy body on the pay phone? I thought it was great!

You may or may not already know this, but the busy body was played by Hazel Shermet. She died shortly before Thanksgiving 2016. She lived to be 96. I thought she was quite a lady!

This was her second of three appearances on "Gimme a Break!". Her first was in "Mom's Birthday" and her third was in "Nell Goes Door to Door". I thought she was good in all three episodes.
