Well, no offense to anyone here or to Charlotte Rae... but she was definitely more plump in the first season. Remember in "New Girl" when she gets all the compliments from the girls about losing her weight?

Obviously this is for strictly humor -- no real harm meant. Besides, they guy playing Mrs. G obviously has some weight issues. Since it's comedy, it's not like they are going to go out and audition women who look identical to Charlotte Rae. I mean, come on... they have a man playing Natalie, who I love. But I'm not too offended. Not too... :rolleyes:

The episode they will be spoofing is Shoplifting. I believe it is a Season 2 episode?

Hey iof it gets high ratings, maybe TNN will get the picture and air it. And I'm sure Tootie is played by a girl. Look at the DS picture on their board. And her name is Candy Ford, so MAYBE.

I highly doubt if it will make a difference. TNN doesn't care, they have The WWE and Star Trek to get them ratings.

If CBS was airing this show, then there could have been a chance, since CBS is owned by Viacom.

Yeah, hopefully SOMEONE will see that FOL does good in the ratings and consider picking it up. HOPEFULLY....

I think it looks really funny too. And also theres a lot of other classic shows but they picked FOL when they could have looked it over. LoL Not that its an honor but FOL must be somewhat popular with people even beyond these boards to be picked for the show.

Other series will be spoofed: Partridge Family, Who's the Boss?, Married...With Children, Bewitched, What's Happening!!, and many more. 6 episodes have been bought for this summer.

If you watch it they might get higher ratings and plan to bring it back. And not all of them look like freaks. Blair would look just fine if she wasn't like 3 feet tall. :lol:

Hehe, I'm definitely gonna give this a shot. It could either be really funny or really stupidk, depending on the way they perform it.
To everyone who's flipping out: calm yourselves. It's no big deal. Don't get me wrong, I adore FOL and LOVE Mrs. G to death, but it's a parody. It's not like they're going to be out-and-out insulting the show or the actors/characters. They're sticking to the script exactly.
My kind of show: kinda like Whose Line (not really, but hey) mixed w/ my old faves. Wonder if they'll do Gilligan's Island...... **dies**

That's pretty cool that the premiere of the show will be FOL and DS.

It might be a fun show and all, and maybe we shouldn't take it too seriously, but I'm sensing a sort of anti-Semitism with the parody of Natalie. Especially since her Jewishness was understated. Why did they do that???

They are spoofing the episode of Shoplifting. Nothing about Natalie being Jewish will be in it. I don't know who brought that up because why they make fun of it, since it will be word for word of the same episode.

A few people have mentioned that it's not right that Blair is short.

However, consider that the actors playing Natalie, Jo and Mrs. G are men. They are probably going to be taller than the women. So, it's just a perception problem.

I'm curious also if anyone has noticed the emblem on Tootie's vest. It's not an Eastland logo, but it looks something like a moon and stars. Any ideas?

I noticed that the Eastland uniforms are navy blue in the picture, instead of red!! Cuz remember the Eastland Uniforms were red?? Werent they??

I think they were both navy and maroon. I seem to remember maroon vests and blue skirts, but also the vice versa. So, they may just be doing it all one color...

Didn't Natalie and Tootie wear blue uniforms because they were in younger grades than Blair and Jo?
