Harvey's production company will shop his show to other networks in the cities where The Kelly Clarkson Show is taking over for Steve, which is in its second season after moving to Los Angeles. (His first talk show, Steve Harvey, aired from Chicago from 2012 to 2017.) “I’ve always been an optimistic person,” says Harvey. “This is NBC’s decision... I don’t own any TV networks but I’m not a grudge type of person. I happen to be a talent. I think people recognize that. Whatever happens with the show moving forward, I’ll be just fine.”

When asked Wednesday at the Variety Entertainment Summit if his talk show intends to stay at NBC Universal after this season, Harvey responded: “I thought I was until they made an announcement a couple weeks ago that they wanted to give Kelly Clarkson the owned-and-operated NBC networks — that’s my slot. I don’t know if it sold, it’s not selling like they thought, but I thought it would have been nice of them to come to me — as the only dude who’s survived (in daytime TV) for seven years — about it.” Variety reports that NBC Universal will stop distributing Steve (https://variety.com/2019/tv/news/steve-harvey-talk-show-nbcuniversal-ces-1203103987/) at the end of this season, and that producers are already shopping the show to other outlets.
