I had my flu shot today! For years, I believed I didn't need one. . . I could get by without one. That was until the last flu season. I was sooo sick! So ill I was in the hospital. It took a really long time to feel like myself again!
It takes about two weeks after vaccination for antibodies that protect against flu, to develop in the body. It's recommended that people get a flu vaccine by the end of October and until as late as May. Anyone had their flu shot yet?

I'm glad you got over your sickness last year MISST3.

I had the flu shot several days ago. I've been fortunate to never actually have the flu.

My husband got his flu shot for free where he works. They'd make everyone get it if they could. They sure don't want people missing work. They don't offer it at either of the places I work so I probably won't get one.

I got a flu shot at work yesterday. I get one every year. I'm sure that it helps me.

we're getting ours next week when we get our haircuts. There's a Weis supermarket next to the barber shop so it'll be convenient.

I wonder about the flu shot for I have never had one. I am 60 and wonder how you feel after the shot. Do you have a reaction? Rash, tiredness. Then I heard there are 2 versions. One for age 65 and over and one for 65 and under. Is one stronger, weaker, different ingredient? . I do get colds that last 5 or so days. I just ride it out. But as I get older, I wonder. Any any thoughts. Thanks.

Never had one and can't have one now because my dad had Guillain-Barré syndrome.

I've gotten one every year for the last 8-10 years. Don't think I've had the flu since. Although I did get the norovirus once and that was worse. As far as I know there's no vaccine for that. The vaccine site might hurt a little bit for a day or so but it's no big deal. The flu is a big deal.

I got the flu shot two weeks ago at my doctor's office. My arm was sore for a couple days, and a little bruised (but I have sensitive skin and bruise quite easily) I highly recommend getting the flu shot than taking a chance of getting sick.

Next week. I hate needles. Off topic, but I've been putting off getting a shingles vaccine. I had a hair stylist whose husband had shingles pretty bad. I guess it was going away but it went to his brain causing a stroke, killing him.

He was 58, a strong firefighter. They were high school sweethearts, three adult kids, the whole deal. I met her three years after it happened. She was planning their daughter's wedding. So sad.

This was hilarious. My local Rite-Aid pharmacy has one of those Grim Reaper figures sitting in one of the chairs for Halloween. It has a sign taped to its chest saying "I Didn't Get My Flu Shot".

btw, I've never had the flu and never had the flu shot.

I have an extreme fear of needles. I know it's good to get shots and have blood work done, but what's routine for most people is a complete nightmare for me.
I got a flu shot once in my life. On my 16th birthday and hated it. My mother made me as I was under age at the time. Worst "birthday present" ever.

OH WOW!! Honey!! OMG!! On your birthday? It couldn't have waited a couple of days? That is really something !! :confused:Why did she make you do that on your birthday , Knowing how you feel about it? :(

AS you know, I've told you before, I feel the EXACT same way as you do!! I HATE,have a real bad fear and dislike of blood work, and needles too , I can tolerate them , it's more the drawing blood I can't tolerate, but still I don't like shots and if i was made to get that flu shot on my birthday!! WOW!!:(

OMG!!! That is awful!!:( I had shingles before, but a light case of it. It was on my neck! Really annoying, very itchy and I was tired and flu like but I got over it pretty quickly and so I think it was just a mild case ! I knew people who had it really bad, and it was really awful for them . Like large bands of a rash that went right around the waist , mine being just a few dots straight down my neck , I was lucky to not have it bad!

But WOW !! I didn't know it could go to your brain and cause a stroke and cause death, esp. at his age, not being that old !! !!! How horrible!! Very sorry for him and his family!!! :(

Me either!! I never had a flu shot! Besides not liking needles, besides a few colds here and there and I had the flu very few times in all my years , I've been pretty much healthy ! Only the light bout with the shingles and now with age menopause and weight gain I have high blood pressure I still am fairly healthy (knock wood) and being I rarely had the flu before I will just take my chances I guess! I really don't plan to get one, and my Hub either, he doesn't want to get one either ! ;)

My health problems lie more with my anxiety disorder that physical problems it seems !

The wife and I got pricked last weekend.
It's not just to prevent yourself from getting sick, it's also to help to not spread the virus as you can be infected without being sick yourself.

 Data supports that the benefits of vaccines greatly outweigh the
possible side effects. Also, take a closer look at your above website. The
website Natural News is owned and founded by Michael Adams. Mr. Adams
is known for being anti-medicine and anti-physician, whatever sells the "natural" products, he hawks on his website.

I got the flu shot 2 weeks ago and haven't been feeling good since. I rarely get the shot but this year I decided to. In the future I may decide to skip it.

On the news they showed a guy who did get it this year and is now in the hospital, partially paralyzed from the vaccine. And years ago a young woman received the flu shot and the weirdest thing happened to her. She can't walk forward normally, but she can walk backwards okay. It was strange.

The 9 most SHOCKING vaccine ingredients of 2018 (www.letsrollforums.com/showthread.php?t=32609)I agree Dude, I don't get a flu shot. I keep my hands sanitized from germs and try and keep my distance from people that are sick. So far so good, havent been sick for over 10 yrs. Just something about someone injecting something in to my body that creeps me out. I'll take my chances.

This is old post but kinda interesting. I have to laugh when I walk thru a grocery store during the "flu" season, the loud speaker will say come and get it and we'll give you 10% of your grocery bill. Nice bribe... No way.

I had asian flu when I was 18, eons ago, and I think a couple of the notorious flu shots over 40 yrs ago and none since. And no flu. I learned about Oscilliccocum (sp) and keep it handy if any signs appear, it zaps it right away.

And I believe our natural immuine systems are best and that is what I keep up.
