That's right, I recently contacted Shout Factory about the collection they will be releasing next week and found out that the Good Morning Miss Bliss episodes will be the syndicated versions with the Saved By The Bell style opening credits.

This isn't too big of a deal since that's the only way they been broadcast since they originally aired, but that was definitely a missed opportunity for Shout Factory.

I kind of figured that would be the way Shout presented the episodes because my On Demand service offers the entire Saved by the Bell series for free and Good Morning Miss Bliss episodes are presented the same way. Good Morning Miss Bliss is labeled as Saved By the Bell season 1.

On the bright side, this is the only way to own the entire series correctly.

Well this sucks but it's not a deal breaker for me.

I wonder if Saved by the Bell will be the syndicated prints (like the Lionsgate releases). This doesn't look good but then again, they're probably looking at the Miss Bliss episodes as just a bonus and not worth giving it the proper treatment, too. That or it just is simply not doable. Maybe they just couldn't get the original broadcast versions (maybe they don't even exist anymore!). This is better than nothing, but I was hopeful for the unedited Miss Bliss episodes.

I guess what really upsets me about this is that they're taking away the original identity of Good Morning, Miss Bliss. It was not season one to Saved by the Bell. It was an entirely different show that was cancelled and then became Saved by the Bell. But for syndication, they replaced its' theme with the SBTB one and the music during the scene transitions were replaced with SBTB music. Yet when Saved by the Bell: The College Years was syndicated, they didn't replace its' theme with the SBTB one. It got to keep its' identity. I don't get it.

Shout! Factory also mentioned they were putting the episodes in an order that wasn't broadcast (they didn't say production either). They also said they consulted with Peter Engel and he approved this order (then again he never cared about continuity before). So hopefully they put it in a correct order. I've put the series in what I view to be the proper order. So I'm interested to see if theirs is the same as mine.

I was honestly hoping for the option of both the original broadcast episodes with the Good Morning, Miss Bliss theme and the retrofitted Saved By the Bell intro for syndication. But I'm still happy to have an official release of these episodes along with uncut episodes of the original Saved By the Bell and Saved By the Bell: The College Years series.
I've ordered this already and I am excitedly waiting for it to come in the mail.:)

I can't believe GMMB doesn't exist. It's probably in the Disney archives someplace, along with all the Disney extended episodes of other shows that are only showed one time and then shelved (an off topic swipe at Disney, there).

Shout was notorious for using syndication cuts, when they started out. You'd think they would have honed their skills by now.

I also contacted Shout! Factory about the Saved By The Bell - The Complete Collection. I had asked them if the pilot episode of Good Morning, Miss Bliss would be included with the collection and they said no due do not being able to secure the rights. It definitely would have been a great bonus. Shout! Factory was not able to get the original uncut episodes of Good Morning, Miss Bliss from The Disney Channel because they were not available and only the syndicated ones were available. The great news is that Shout! Factory said the Saved By The Bell episodes are the original uncut episodes.
