Ward says that he grew up in Shaker Heights, but in the episode where Beaver is supposed to walk the neighbor's dog, he says that the house the dog's owner lived in was the first one with electricity and everyone came to look at the lights.
Am I getting this wrong? Is Shaker Heights supposed to be close to Mayfield?

He supposedly grew up on a farm, and I think he mentioned Shaker Heights a few times. Maybe the family moved to Mayfield at some point. He also called June the belle of East Saint Louis in an episode, and I think she mentioned in an early episode that she had Mrs. Rayburn as a teacher.
So, lots of inconsistencies. Less noticeable over the original six year run, than a few-months run on MeTV.

Just like Mr. Gates, Bates, Harrison. Love how Miss Wakeland in the episode when Beaver plays the Dutch boy says how Gilbert’s father was like Gilbert always giggling. We all know Mr. Gates traveled all the time and was a flutist.

In the kite episode Gilbert says his father is an engineer.
Maybe there were two Gilberts in Mayfield, Gates and Bates. Can't explain Harrison!
