View Full Version : Viacom has hired you, to refresh programming on one of its channels. TMC 09-24-2018, 05:31 PM What channel do you pick? What do you program? Money isn't an issue. You can steal already existing shows, fix old ones, or just pick a different direction. tlc38tlc38 09-24-2018, 08:10 PM Viacom's biggest problem is commercial every 5 minutes. jimpickens 09-24-2018, 11:11 PM USA get rid of all the repeats of modern TV shows and scrap reality shows and go back to the way it was pre 2000. Impressions 09-24-2018, 11:33 PM Make TeenNick into NickSplat and air more classic Nick shows Merry24 09-25-2018, 12:39 AM Make NICK at NITE a place to see the 1950’s & 1960’s Sitcoms!! Return all those jingles and promos. stevea 09-25-2018, 09:59 AM Turn TV Land (which really has no purpose) into Nick Classic. Just make it the Nick of the 1990s. Svenfan1234 09-25-2018, 10:56 AM Make TeenNick into NickSplat and air more classic Nick shows Or make Logo NickSplat. I would make Logo NickSplat, and then get rid of Nick @ Nite. There is no use for it anymore. And then just add the classics on Logo (yes, all 4 shows) to TV Land. DeadlyToolTime 09-25-2018, 12:01 PM Shut it all down. stevea 09-25-2018, 01:06 PM Turn CMT back into a rural network. Ha! Hollywood and New York, that's all they care about. mets82 09-25-2018, 06:26 PM Give each channel it's own identity. Nick at Nite and TV Land-Classic shows. Logo-Classic shows. CMT-Country. MTV and MTV2-Music Videos edoug 09-25-2018, 06:52 PM Comcast owns USA, SyFy, etc. jimpickens 09-25-2018, 08:49 PM Okay edoug 09-25-2018, 09:25 PM I like Modern Family but agree with you about USA, it isn't nearly as good as use to be. jimpickens 09-25-2018, 10:04 PM Yep as for Viacom owned stations CMT would get an overhaul by the way who owns the outdoor channel. bgva 09-26-2018, 12:32 AM MTV. Would focus on more music programming, not just music videos, but music-based documentaries and original programming, with videos late at night for an hour or two. Would definitely cut back on the reality shows, or maybe just air it during the 10:00 hour like they used to do in the 90s. jimpickens 09-26-2018, 01:35 AM In other words you want it similar to AXS TV minus the movies and wrestling. icecream 09-26-2018, 08:49 AM The first thing I would do for TV Land is totally remove off the clock programming. If they really need money an extra hour or two of infomercials early morning would be preferable, 4-9AM weekdays. Shows airing would also have a lot less edited out of them. Then they can start airing more classics and building up a bigger variety. Trashy Two and a Half Men would leave completely, and The Goldbergs would be moved to a different Viacom network. Also leaving would be How I Met Your Mother and Old Christine, which are just used as late night filler anyway. Candid Camera would be brought back, while most of their originals have sucked I liked this one. Eventually the schedule could look like this. Weekdays 4-9AM Paid Programming 9-11AM Bonanza 11AM-1PM Gunsmoke 1-2PM M*A*S*H 2-3PM Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C. 3-4PM The Andy Griffith Show 4-5:30PM Family Affair 5:30-7PM Petticoat Junction 7-9PM Newhart 9-11PM The Mary Tyler Moore Show 11PM-1AM Everybody Loves Raymond 1-2AM Hot in Cleveland repeats- I didn't like this show but it did appeal to a lot of classics fans. 2-4AM The King of Queens Saturdays 4-6AM Bonanza 6-8AM Gunsmoke 8-9AM Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C. 9-11AM The Andy Griffith Show 11AM-1PM Newhart 1-3PM The Mary Tyler Moore Show 3-5PM Reba 5-6PM Hot in Cleveland repeats 6-8PM The Golden Girls 8-10PM Candid Camera repeats- Peter Funt and Suzanne Somers half hour episodes 10PM Candid Camera new hourlong episodes return with Peter Funt and Mayim Bialik 11PM-1AM M*A*S*H 1-2AM Candid Camera new episode encore 2-3AM Everybody Loves Raymond 3-4AM The King of Queens Sundays 4-7AM Paid Programming 7-9AM Everybody Loves Raymond 9-11AM The Golden Girls 11AM-1PM Newhart 1-3PM The Mary Tyler Moore Show 3-5PM Reba 5-6PM The Andy Griffith Show 6-8PM Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C. 8-10PM Family Affair 10PM-12AM Petticoat Junction 12-2AM Candid Camera repeats- Peter Funt and Suzanne Somers half hour episodes 2-4AM M*A*S*H tenter 09-26-2018, 11:50 AM remove Nick at Nite and make Nickelodeon 24/7, or NickSplat move to Nickelodeon 10pm-6am. TVLand needs to bring back older shows. No more recent shows that currently airs in local syndication No more off the clocks. Friends will move to TVLand, Mom will keep on Paramount but just less airings, George Lopez will NEVER be shown on any TV networks due to controversy. icecream 09-26-2018, 12:39 PM remove Nick at Nite and make Nickelodeon 24/7, or NickSplat move to Nickelodeon 10pm-6am. I would rather see George Lopez on TV Land than Friends, which airs way too much now on TBS. Nick at Nite is the only network currently airing George Lopez, and it is buried in the middle of the night there. GL would also be preferable at 10PM to Two and a Half Men, which is total trash and still airs on several other networks. tenter 09-26-2018, 01:14 PM What controversy? Several of his other shows like Lopez and Saint George have not been good. But his ABC show was one of the better sitcoms of the 2000s decade. It had good writing and an excellent supporting cast with Masiela Lusha, Belita Moreno, and Constance Marie. MA 09-27-2018, 07:14 AM VH1 Remove all of the reality shows and have it return to their original roots which is music. I would bring back the music videos, show old (and some recent) Behind The Music episodes, along with the countdown shows bgva 09-27-2018, 04:56 PM In other words you want it similar to AXS TV minus the movies and wrestling. This is a good way to put it. Dunno if Fuse still focuses mainly on music, but either of those two. I could even deal with movies like Wayne's World, which loosely focused on music. Refresh all of the Viacom channels and bring back the original purposes. icecream 10-02-2018, 12:42 AM TV Land should bring Reba to weekday evenings with Freeform pushing it to early mornings today. Using the shows they have, I would schedule this on weekdays, no off the clock. 6-9AM Infomercials 9AM-12PM Gunsmoke 12-2PM Bonanza 2-4PM M*A*S*H 4-6PM The Andy Griffith Show 6-8PM Reba 8-10PM Everybody Loves Raymond 10PM-12AM The Goldbergs 12-2AM The King of Queens 2-4AM Two and a Half Men 4-5AM The New Adventures of Old Christine 5-6AM How I Met Your Mother tenter 10-02-2018, 03:11 PM https://www.adweek.com/tv-video/viacom-names-brian-robbins-as-nickelodeons-new-president/ Not sure where to post but Brian Robbins will now serve as new president of Nickelodeon. I'm hoping things could possibly be better for Nick and Nick at Nite in future AMackII 10-03-2018, 06:00 AM In my view, MTV Classic should probably needed to turnaround by focusing more on the 1980s & the 1990s by replaying episodes of classic music video programming from both decades on the schedule in addition to airing pre-2000 music videos. |
