I enjoyed Hey Dude when it originally aired. I suspect, like the narrator, that I'd find the episodes cheesy as an adult, although that was sort of the point of Nick shows.

The narrator is completely wrong about Joe Torres, though. He hasn't vanished off the face of the earth. He still lives in Tucson and has a Facebook page. If his co-workers can't find him, they aren't looking very hard.

I actually had no idea this show existed until the 90s are all that debuted on Teen Nick a few years ago. Which is funny, because I usually had Nick on all the time growing up.
