Hello !

What do you think of that new channel, Start TV, which replaces Decades in some markets ?

To be honest, i think it's a good channel because they have Family Law and this show haven't been seen for 10 years...

I for one miss Decades for I like the older shows. It appears Start TV station has shows from the last 30 years. Since all the retro stations are showing 1950-1980's shows I haven't seen any shows from the last 30 years. Also it was nice to have Bill Curtis tell us what happened on this day in history. Start Tv won't be on my list of must see tv. But I am glad you like it.

Much like Decades (which switched affiliates where I live, so now I can view the channel with clear reception and no stuttering/black screen), it's a channel where there's like one or two shows I'm interested in watching, but don't find the channel as a whole any interesting or something I'd turn to every day.

I don’t have it but the only thing on there I like is Touched by Ann angel and it airs at a bad time in the early morning. Now if they would just move it to evenings.

I haven't seen it, there's nothing on their schedule that interests me. I miss Decades though. Our cable provider (Comcast) says it's just gone temporarily though.

I hope it’s not permanent for us.

I'm hoping someone picks up Decades in our area.

Start TV is adding The Good Wife, Unforgettable, Crossing Jordan and Strong Medicine to it's schedule starting January https://tvnewscheck.com/article/226002/start-tv-network-adds-four-new-dramas/

Only show I like is Touched by an Angel and it’s on at a bad time in the early morning hours. I just wish Heroes and Icons didn’t have to replace Decades in my area as Decades is now a challenge to get on a weak lp station.

I would watch the heck out of this but sadly it is not available in my state! Most of these types of channels aren't carried in RI.

Yes and I watch it sometimes on MeTV. I just wish Start would show it during the evening so I could watch it more than once a week.

Treky, l like your Fred Flintstone watching the Munsters. Fred looks so warm and cozy watching tv. In a way it's Fred watching Fred.

I have insomnia and they play 3 hours of Early Edition in the morning which I love. StartTV is okay with me. Decades did too many terrible marathons - they played "Tarzan" for 2 straight days. Don't torture your viewers.

I agree. Tarzan sucks and Decades has done too many marathons of it.

I don't see the other shows such as Dr. Quinn and Touched By An Angel in this article:

https://tvnewscheck.com/article/226002/start-tv-network-adds-four-new-dramas/

Are they gone from the lineup?

I don’t know. They haven’t announced the January schedule yet.

It turns out that Strong Medicine didn’t last very long on the channel at all. It's already gone from the schedule as of April 28.

I do not like Start TV too much and to top it off, I have it on Youtube TV where alot of their shows are unavailable for streaming. That makes it kind of useless to me anyway.

Now that CBS owns 100% of Pop, it should add The Good Wife and Medium to Pop, make it exclusive (as far as channel rights), make Ghost Whisperer exclusive, to help Pop. Pop's daytime is a bit weak with numerous Charmed repeats.

Then Start TV after losing those three shows would need to adjust. Weigel could just merge Decades back with it. I like Decades' 9am-5pm schedule with I Love Lucy starting the morning and Newhart ending it in the afternoon. The more current dramas like Early Edition from Start TV could air in the evening or primetime or weekends.

I'm not sure why Weigel has so many subchannels but operates them scattered in light market coverage and programming is stretched thin. Nobody wants to watch The Commish marathons, but when Weigel schedules on Decades, it gives Decades a bad impression, even though it has good shows at other times. Similarly, too much exposure of the same dramas on Start TV is limiting. My local Fios doesn't want to carry Decades as a subchannel, even though it carries Heroes & Icons and Retro TV from the same station.

We’ve had Start TV for a while; it didn’t replace Decades in our market. Decades is supposed to return on FIOS, but I’m not holding my breath. I think some Comcast markets still carry it. Start-TV carries All in the Family and we look at that sometimes; I think Amen also, but that’s early in the morning and we’re getting ready for work.

That's getTV that airs All in the Family and Amen.
