View Full Version : COZI TV New Addition! Pavan 09-06-2018, 11:40 PM Announcement coming early next week, likely Monday. Stay tuned on the blog. MA 09-07-2018, 06:17 AM Can't wait to find out what this new addition is! Svenfan1234 09-07-2018, 10:38 AM Hopefully Antenna will add new shows too. Mr. Television 09-07-2018, 11:39 AM Can't wait to find out what this new addition is! Hope it's a good show. Not impressed with The Nanny and W & G. opus 09-07-2018, 12:25 PM Announcement coming early next week, likely Monday. Stay tuned on the blog. MASH!! BigManMike 09-07-2018, 01:58 PM MASH!! That would be great if it meant it finally leaves MeTV. stevea 09-07-2018, 06:43 PM Oh, yeah, MASH. It's only on ten other networks and stations. And of course you can't get it on DVD, right? MikeLutton 09-07-2018, 07:54 PM could be Happy days just my guess Svenfan1234 09-07-2018, 10:50 PM I hope they get Coach and Gimme a Break since my Cozi station is a low-powered station since Antenna overplays both! BigManMike 09-07-2018, 11:12 PM I hope they get Coach and Gimme a Break since my Cozi station is a low-powered station since Antenna overplays both! I would like Gimme a Break as long as they don’t crunch credits. But Cozi is very hit and miss with that. Some shows they put their own customized small credits on over the ending scene or just skip them altogether while other shows they play the full credits as they should. BigManMike 09-07-2018, 11:13 PM Who’s the Boss or the Golden Girls would be nice too as long as the credits are intact. icecream 09-07-2018, 11:14 PM I hope they get Coach and Gimme a Break since my Cozi station is a low-powered station since Antenna overplays both! That would be terrible. I don't have a Cozi affiliate so wouldn't get to see Coach any more. But I don't think Coach is leaving Antenna any time soon thankfully. Your vendetta against it is getting really sad, wanting Coach totally sent away like Gimme a Break proves you hate it just as much. Coach hasn't even been on a whole year yet, hardly overplayed like some of the shows that have been on several years. Give your vendetta a rest already! Svenfan1234 09-07-2018, 11:20 PM That would be terrible. It took the timeslot that might've gone to Murphy Brown which should've had an hour instead, now Murphy is hardly shown on Antenna and the shows everyone wanted like Head of the Class, The Hogan Family, Silver Spoons and Growing Pains get buried while shows like Coach and Gimme a Break hang on. And also, the reason I paired them together is not because I hate them (I do hate Gimme a Break, I like Coach in small doses) but they're both distributed by NBCUniversal and Cozi is owned by them. Weekend afternoons aren't good enough, Antenna, we want those 80s sitcoms EVERY day. So yes, I wish both would go to Cozi. icecream 09-07-2018, 11:32 PM now Murphy is hardly shown on AntennaHogwash! Murphy Brown leads into Johnny Carson weeknights, that is still a great slot compared to what several shows get. Plus weekends at 5PM is a very watchable slot. And "hardly shown" Murphy is getting 2 marathons in the fall. MA 09-08-2018, 05:57 AM So MASH is the new addition coming? It’s on like multiple other channels! stevea 09-08-2018, 08:42 AM Cozi's main problem is that it VERY heavily edited. It's as bad as a Viacom network. MA 09-08-2018, 08:47 AM I don't see anywhere on COZI TV's Facebook and Twitter about MASH being the new addition. Svenfan1234 09-08-2018, 10:09 AM Hogwash! Murphy Brown leads into Johnny Carson weeknights, that is still a great slot compared to what several shows get. Plus weekends at 5PM is a very watchable slot. And "hardly shown" Murphy is getting 2 marathons in the fall. Murphy should be getting 9-10pm or 10-11pm but because of Coach, Murphy is almost pushed to the graveyard hours. Hopefully this is rectified with the next schedule change, Murphy has too many episodes to be shown once a night. And the Weekends are on a different cycle, so your argument is invalid for that. And I'm glad it's getting two marathons, I only wish the September 26 one was all day as well as November 14. icecream 09-08-2018, 11:48 AM Murphy should be getting 9-10pmThere is no way Murphy will get the 9PM hour. That is where CBS will have new episodes. icecream 09-08-2018, 11:53 AM I don't see anywhere on COZI TV's Facebook and Twitter about MASH being the new addition. It was a joke opus made. I highly doubt M*A*S*H is the new show coming, Pavan would not have made a thread teasing this new show if it were M*A*S*H. MA 09-08-2018, 11:57 AM It was a joke opus made. I highly doubt M*A*S*H is the new show coming, Pavan would not have made a thread teasing this new show if it were M*A*S*H. Thought for real that MASH would be the new show coming. stevea 09-08-2018, 11:59 AM I also doubt Happy Days would generate this hype. opus 09-08-2018, 12:00 PM It was a joke opus made. I highly doubt M*A*S*H is the new show coming, Pavan would not have made a thread teasing this new show if it were M*A*S*H. Finally, somebody gets me... Svenfan1234 09-08-2018, 12:18 PM There is no way Murphy will get the 9PM hour. That is where CBS will have new episodes. I meant in the summer it should have been at 9-10PM or 10-11PM instead of 11-11:30PM. It had 10 seasons and that's way too much for a 1-episode-a-night run. I suspect Coach is only on primetime because Barney Miller would go well with both Coach and Alice, considering it is a male-led show therefore it could lead into Coach, and a workplace comedy, meaning it could follow Alice. But the primetime lineup could've been Alice 8-9pm, Murphy 9-10pm, Barney 10-11pm and Coach 11-11:30pm where it was. And by the way, years ago when MeTV ran the original MacGyver, they aired it at the same time as the new episodes, so Antenna could do the same thing if they so desired. Svenfan1234 09-08-2018, 12:22 PM I also doubt Happy Days would generate this hype. Well, Cozi added Will and Grace last fall, and The Nanny this winter. Both are female-led shows. Maybe it's another female-led sitcom from the 90s or 2000s, or female-led in general? I'm thinking (even though they haven't worked with Disney) The Golden Girls could fit the female-led criteria, but then again so could One Day at a Time but I think One Day at a Time will get picked up by MeTV. Obviously it's not M*A*S*H and probably not Happy Days considering MeTV still has the rights. icecream 09-08-2018, 12:34 PM And by the way, years ago when MeTV ran the original MacGyver, they aired it at the same time as the new episodes, so Antenna could do the same thing if they so desired.MacGyver is a remake with a different cast. Murphy Brown is a revival with the same core cast reprising their roles. It would not be in either network's best interest to have the classic episodes competing directly against the new ones. Bonniegirl 09-08-2018, 12:44 PM I am in so much suspense!!!! :eek:When will this mystery be revealed??? Zoneboy 09-08-2018, 12:47 PM I have a feeling that it's something bigger. I also can't see Pavan teasing everyone here with a show that probably won't come as a surprise to any of us. My first thought was maybe Batman since METV dropped it, but I doubt that's it. What would really be nice if it weren't a new show at all, but a new channel from Cozi. That would be worth the suspense of waiting. Svenfan1234 09-08-2018, 12:52 PM MacGyver is a remake with a different cast. Murphy Brown is a revival with the same core cast reprising their roles. It would not be in either network's best interest to have the classic episodes competing directly against the new ones. Well...you still never know what Antenna will/would do. Svenfan1234 09-08-2018, 12:54 PM I have a feeling that it's something bigger. I also can't see Pavan teasing everyone here with a show that probably won't come as a surprise to any of us. That would be worth the suspense of waiting. That's what I was thinking, but I still feel like it's a sitcom he's hinting at, and I'm pretty sure MeTV is just giving Batman a rest for now, I think they still air it on Heroes & Icons. I think we should expect a show or sitcom that hasn't played on any diginet yet. We'll see. Even though I get Cozi on a fairly inconsistent basis, I can't wait to hear what this new show is! Svenfan1234 09-08-2018, 12:55 PM I am in so much suspense!!!! :eek:When will this mystery be revealed??? Monday. Bonniegirl 09-08-2018, 01:32 PM Monday. How cool!! I get Get TV ! Dan August isn't playing on there now though right? Marcus Welby would make a nice pair with Emergency on Cozi, and Room 222 and The Waltons haven't been shown on any digital channel. Is The Rookies any good? I'm a very selective crime drama person and I'm not huge on police dramas but there are some I like. Bonniegirl 09-08-2018, 03:43 PM I think MeTV also has Family and Here come the Brides. It was really good!! ;)I haven't seen it in years but I loved it first run as a little girl and in my early teens! It was on quite a few seasons! My Mom and Sister loved it too! ;) Kate Jackson was in this playing one of the Rookies wives and she was a nurse! ;) Also Michael Lembeck guest starred twice!! ;) https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/81Jep%2BRyziL._SY445_.jpg MA 09-08-2018, 08:36 PM Mad About You is already on TV, forget where though. Next Saturday and the Saturday after that along with Hawk another show Burt Reynolds was in as a tribute to him! ;) https://www.get.tv/special/burt-reynolds My Mom used to watch Dan August when it was first run and I had seen two eps. of it recently on Youtube . My crush Michael Lembeck was guest starring in one of the eps. than I just watched another one because it was really a good show! ;) stevea 09-09-2018, 08:38 AM Dan August did air there last winter. I like the Rookies too. I haven't seen Family or Marcus Welby in years. Both great shows. Marcus Welby was on Cozi when they were new. It was on for quite awhile, at noon. They need to bring it back, IMO. Bonniegirl 09-09-2018, 11:44 AM Marcus Welby was on Cozi when they were new. It was on for quite awhile, at noon. They need to bring it back, IMO. Yep!! I guess Cozi isn't a strictly retro network anymore now. Bonniegirl 09-10-2018, 12:18 PM So what is the new show starting today? What time is it on? icecream 09-10-2018, 12:26 PM So what is the new show starting today? What time is it on?:wave:It looks like there isn't a new show coming today. The Office won't be joining until January. icecream 09-10-2018, 12:32 PM Cozi has been one of my most wanted channels with airing shows like The Munsters and Frasier. But it looks like they are going downhill adding newer shows now like The Office. If it continues they might be airing less and less classics. Say what you will about Me-TV always keeping M*A*S*H and Hogan's Heroes in the same slot, but at least they are still a network fully committed to an all-classics lineup. Next up on Cozi's bucket list will be modern shows that fit with The Office like Parks and Recreation and 30 Rock. MA 09-10-2018, 12:45 PM To me, I think The Office belongs on Comedy Central and not COZI TV. Bonniegirl 09-10-2018, 12:47 PM It looks like there isn't a new show coming today. The Office won't be joining until January. What??? The Office was the big hype and reason for this thread than? I thought a new ( good) show was supposed to start this Monday? I don't care to see the friggin' Office !! Bonniegirl 09-10-2018, 12:52 PM Fantasy Island also used to be in Cozi. But that was long befor I got it. How cool if METV could get Fantasy Island ! Have it on after The Love Boat on Sundays!! It's very sad! :( I forget how? Channel surfing I guess is how I discovered I had Cozi about 5 or 6 years ago ! I came upon Lassie, the real old ones with Jeff and I was like "Oh how cool.I love Lassie , what station is this?" And around that time was when I started watching Here's Lucy on Cozi ! So yeah, going from Lassie and Lucy to stuff like the Office is sad! :( DeadlyToolTime 09-10-2018, 01:06 PM I know people are gonna complain and whine about The Office, but at least Cozi doesn't speed up and butcher half of the episode's content like Comedy Central. Mr. Television 09-10-2018, 01:13 PM Another show I hate. Cozi TV is going down the hill. MA 09-10-2018, 01:25 PM At least Netflix has The Office commercial-free. No full seasons have been issued on DVD, and honestly I don't remember when the series last aired in syndication, seems like it's been a long time. Maybe it has something to do with the Freddie Prinze tragedy, I don't know. I think Chico And The Man would be a good fit for Antenna TV if they would acquire the series and run the episodes. stevea 09-12-2018, 03:25 PM There are a few things that might work against it: 1. There are only 88 episodes, not desirable for syndication. 2. It doesn't have a good syndication history, probably due to shortage of episodes. 3. There are a lot of derogatory slurs, which might not go over well in today's world. (although it still works with Sanford and AITF). 4. The ratings slipped after the first season, and really tailed off in the last two. It's surprising a fourth season was even done, after Prinze committed suicide. Chico did play on TV Land a while ago when TV Land was cool and retro! :)So it was many years ago!! ;) bgva 09-13-2018, 07:09 PM Honestly, that's a pretty good pickup for an antenna-based channel. I get why it's a bummer, but it makes sense if they air it alongside Will and Grace. There's still a lot of people who enjoy The Office, in spite of it airing on cable networks, syndication, or Netflix. I also understand why the posters here feel let down after being in suspense, but this network is going after a mainstream audience, and this may help them. Mr. Television 09-13-2018, 07:20 PM Cozi has JTS. MA 09-13-2018, 07:33 PM Cozi has JTS. Jumped The Shark? I agree, because The Office isn't even an old show at all. Bonniegirl 09-13-2018, 07:58 PM Cozi has JTS. I agree!! But I would word it differently! ! I'd say Cozi is HFTT (heading for the toilet)!!!,:p MA 09-13-2018, 07:59 PM I would call it going down the hill. Mr. Television 09-13-2018, 08:29 PM I agree!! But I would word it differently! ! I'd say Cozi is HFTT (heading for the toilet)!!!,:p They took Quincy off too. They have most of their retro shows on the weekends. I could put up with the Nanny but W & G and The Office are not classics. Anything from this century isn't and I think they are just using the network to promote a new Office series they are planning to premiere. Patty Duke 09-21-2018, 08:02 PM The Office joins the lineup in January 2019. http://blog.sitcomsonline.com/2018/09/cozi-tv-adds-office-in-january-2019.html :soapbox:ohno::X) I really miss Quincy. :( Svenfan1234 09-21-2018, 09:29 PM :soapbox:ohno::X) I really miss Quincy. :( I never really watched Cozi anyway when it came in good! They play too much Murder, She Wrote, Little House on the Prairie and Frasier IMO! They have too little variety. MA 12-05-2018, 06:42 AM The Office will start on January 1 with a Season 1 & 2 marathon, and then begin airing in its regular time period, a two-hour block starting at 10 PM ET. http://blog.sitcomsonline.com/2018/12/the-office-starts-jan-1-on-cozi-tv-good.html?m=1 BigManMike 12-05-2018, 08:06 AM It would be nice if they showed Dick Van Dyke and Make Room for Daddy more and showed them in the evening instead of burying them in overnight hours when most are sleeping. Svenfan1234 12-05-2018, 10:11 AM I feel like the reason Cozi TV is adding The Office is so NBC can test the waters for a revival which they've been hinting at, similar with what happened with Will & Grace. Kind of like what WB did for Murphy Brown on Antenna, but since that reboot is failing in the ratings, I feel like Antenna might not hold on to it much longer. FaceReality 12-05-2018, 11:09 PM I've noticed that Cozi TV has also dropped Kojak along with two hours of the Rockford Files on Sunday. They have replaced Kojak along with the two hours of the Rockford Files with Hart to Hart. I predict that Cozi TV will eventually stop showing classic shows period. Their primetime schedule is pure crap. eng51squad51 12-15-2018, 02:39 PM Anyone know how the permanent schedule works out? The Office is going to Will and Grace's spot, so are they leaving?
