I was watching It's A Living on Logo this morning and I noticed that Sheryl Lee Ralph was part of the It's A Living cast and I'm curious to know when Sheryl joined It's A Living. When I saw Sheryl Lee Ralph on It's A Living her waitress character reminded of Tiana from Disney's The Princess And The Frog because in the movie Tiana worked as a waitress just like Sheryl Lee Ralph's character

She joined the show in 1986 after Ann Jillian left.

This is true. Sheryl talks about it in her book. Ann Jillian agreed to come back and do one season of the show. She had other interests she wanted to focus on and she was doing her chemotherapy as well for the cancer she would eventually overcome.

I was going to put the season, but wasn’t sure of that, so just put the year instead.

Yeah. Sheryl joined in season four along with Robin Peterson who co-starred. Robin was gone midway through the season. The cast remained intact until the conclusion of the series.

It just occurred to me that Sheryl Lee Ralph played a woman with the surname "St. James" on back to back shows. She of course played Ginger St. James on It's a Living and then she played Vicki St. James on New Attitude (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Attitude_(TV_series)).
