Does anyone know if any channel is deticated to 1950’s & 1960’s Sitcoms?

Me TV too many Westerns and Sci-Fi. Anytime they do add an older TV Sitcom they keep it at 5AM-9AM.Or they send it to a sister network I don’t even have.

Antenna TV too much Johnny Carson and 1970’s & 1980’s shows at night.

I hope I don’t regret saying that right now there is too many classic TV Channels.What I mean by this is all those Classic TV Channels hold onto rights of the 1950’s & 1960’s Sitcoms or all the current classic TV Channels air the 1950’s & 1960’s Sitcoms in the Mornings and afternoons.

I guess that’s why I miss how NICK at NITE use to be no one else was showing 1950’s & 1960’s Sitcoms and they were airring at Nite, All nite, EveryNite.

DECADES has dedicated weekends to '50s and '60s shows if that counts. But at the top of my head, I can't think of any network that is just '50s and '60s shows.

I don't think there's too many of them, I actually enjoying having something OTHER THAN TV Land, which is just garbage now.

That would be great! All we have here is Me TV & Antenna TV. Very well agreed about TVLAND.

I think the closest thing out there may be Retro TV or RTV for short. It isn't strictly a 50s/60s oldies channel since it does have a few series that are from recent times (and are also Canadian-made) like "Da Vinci's Inquest", "Murdoch Mysteries", and "Republic Of Doyle" and they do show way too much of a show called "The Doctors", but the great majority of the schedule does feature mainly public-domain reruns of classic sitcoms and westerns like "The Beverly Hillbillies", "The Lucy Show", "Petticoat Junction", "Annie Oakley", "The Lone Ranger", "Roy Rogers". It's not ideal by any means but it still might be worth checking out for those of you that might be unhappy with Antenna TV and MeTV and are just looking for alternate options.

The RTV channel in my area is garbage, much of the RTV programs aren't even seen, most of the schedule is filled with crap local programs like the one about deadbeat dad's who don't pay their child support. And with the RTV shows that do air, the picture is widescreen which I dislike, I prefer fullscreen.

FETV is another good one. While not completely devoted to '50s and '60s, they have a lot of classics.

They got Peter Gunn, The Monkees, I Dream of Jeannie, The Flying Nun, The Roy Rogers Show, Lassie, Sargent Preston and the Yukon, Father Knows Best, The Lone Ranger, Bewitched, Perry Mason, and Hazel.

I read a poster comment about the Boston area is losing DECADES. I will miss that station. Heard today station called START TV is taking its place tomorrow so I googled START TV and the shows are 90's programs. Only one I might watch is DR Quinn Medicine Woman. I'm a bit disappointed the shows are only 30 years or so old. Just when you like a station, someone takes it away.

I would love that! A retro station that would focus on the 50's and 60's shows and early to mid 70's would be fine too! ;)

Antenna TV is currently the best retro channel for sitcoms, but they are starting to show more 80's and 90's stuff and a little less focus on older sitcoms. And they show Johnny Carson too much, 7 nights a week is too much, I like some of the 90 minute Carson shows from the 70's but that's it.

Speaking of Antenna TV and their lack of older shows, I remember that it was around a year or two ago that they were about to announce a new companion channel that was to be called Antenna TV Classics that would feature a lot of the older material like Dennis The Menace, Father Knows Best, and others. Since then, there has been absolute silence on this. Does anyone know why?

I’d love this. Plenty of shows I’d love to see more of but they’re always on at such a bad time on MeTV or the credits are crunched on Antenna. I’d love to see more Dennis the Menace, Hazel, Petticoat Junction, My Three Sons, That Girl, and Get Smart. And I would like them to be on in the evening. I would definitely like a channel like this.

in my area where i live we got this xtra channel usally shows black n white shows during night time like in blocks.dick van dyke,lucy show bonanza some others check it out its channel 99

Unfortunately, I think the number of pre-1990 shows on diginets has already peaked and over the next few years the diginets are going to be trending towards much more recent series to bring in younger viewers. It was unthinkable just a few years ago that shows like "That 70's Show", "House" and "The Office" would ever be considered for diginets, but now all of them will be airing by next year, and I'm sure many more of their contemporaries are being considered.

I was just noticing on the Comcast TV Guide that not only do we have Nickelodeon, we have Nick Jr, Nick 2, Teen Nick, and Nick Toons. Wouldn't you think one of these could become Classic Nick, and play all the good stuff Nick used to have? Facts of Life, Silver Spoons, My Three Sons, Donna Reed.

Nick 2 is a total waste, just the same crap regular Nick has.

I was just noticing on the Comcast TV Guide that not only do we have Nickelodeon, we have Nick Jr, Nick 2, Teen Nick, and Nick Toons. Wouldn't you think one of these could become Classic Nick, and play all the good stuff Nick used to have? Facts of Life, Silver Spoons, My Three Sons, Donna Reed.

Nick 2 is a total waste, just the same crap regular Nick has.

Nick is east coast feed and Nick 2 is west coast feed so they are really the same. If you miss a show the first time on Nick you can catch it three hours later on Nick 2.

I think now with nick having all these different brands I feel there is no reason why they can’t have a Classic nick channel. Yes on the original Nickelodeon channel.The current original Nickelodeon channel shows Paw Patrol that’s on nick jr. Spongebob that goes on nick toons. If I were in charge I would do this..

nickelodeon & nick@niTe should become a Classic Channel for 12 Classic Hours Of NICKELODEON shows & 12 Classic Hours Of NICK at NITE shows.(Remakes to Double Dare & Clarissa Explains It All can air at 8pm while all remake episodes go to the proper brand.)

New Episodes of like Henry Danger & Paw Patrol can be shown on its proper channels teen nick & nick jr.

Now tell me these people who run Comcast aren't total idiots. Why would they put the regular Nick feed and the Nick west coast feed on the same cable system?

Actually I can make do. I have Cozi, Encore westerns, METV and on Demand to find my old shows. I really could be doing something more productive than being a tv couch potato.

Another things that could be done on the Turner side of things, would be to move the Boomerang schedule to CN (which IMO is a total, floundering waste right now), and turn Boomerang into "TBS Retro". Easy to program, just put the TBS schedule from 20 years ago on there.

To totally satisfy me (which is paramount), Comcast would have to pick up the present-day Boomerang. Maybe they could put it in place of Nick 2, which is a totally ridiculous carry.

The closest we have to that is the NickSplat block on TeenNick. I personally think Teen Nick is a waste of space, they use to have original shows, now it's just a teenage wasteland and should just be turned into NickSplat. Even NickSplat sucks, 'cause it's the same shows they've been playing over-and-over-and-over for years. The whole channel is a joke.
