Well here I am in Bonnie Scotland. I've had my dram of whisky (thought that was a few days ago so no I am not intoxicated right now (nor was I then for that matter)...) and I am going monster hunting tomorrow....muhahahahaha.

I absolutely love Scotland. You all simply must come and join me. The country is beautiful and the people rock. And forget about what you've heard about English pubs....they don't have nothing on Scottish pubs which are loads friendlier and loads more fun. OK, OK, so I only went to one English pub, so perhaps I shouldn't be too quick to judge... ;)

The past 3 days I was in Edinburgh, and now I am in Inverness. We've enjoyed the slower pace of Inverness and the highland scenery, and we are going to Loch Ness tomorrow (I know, I know....silly tourist trap....but to me in some ways Loch Ness seems to typify the Scottish sense of humor, which is quite pleasant).

I will say though, that it is a weird experience having seen more Highland Cows in the American midwest than here in Scotland (I've seen 5 billion stuffed animal "Heilan Coos" but only like 5 of the real thing). And Mossopp, yes I did get myself a stuffed Nessie. It's so cute. And I also got me some tartan cloth of both my maternal and paternal family lines. And I had some Irn Bru, which I like quite alot (for my fellow Americans, the closest thing I can describe Irn Bru to is cream soda, though it's a bit different). And of course, I had THE HAGGIS. It was pretty good, not as scary as I thought it might be! :lol:

Ok well I'm gonna go. I should be getting back to America very late on June 5th, so I'll be hanging around here again like around the 8th or 9th, I'm sure. See ya! :wave:

I haven't seen any deep fried Mars bars, but you said that was a Western thing and so far I've been East, so hopefully I'll see 'em around Glasgow. And I am not having any trouble at all with the accents though sometimes my mom does. Actually I quite like Scottish accents, they're quite charming. But people up north here are a little harder to understand sometimes than in Edinburgh, but it's not bad at all.

And of course I didn't see any monsters today, but we still had a great day. We went on this little package tour thing that takes you to see the Loch, some cairns, and a few other things, it was cool. And I saw some more coos today :lol:

And as for 3 legged birds? I have no clue what you're speaking of. Perhaps you should alert some naturalists to your discovery, perhaps they can name this new species after you! :lol: And when I got haggis it wasn't actually served in the stomach, which is why it wasn't very scary. Actually I had a harder time stomaching foie gras (goose liver) in France than I did with haggis.

:lol: Trixie's right. It is a haggis. The haggis is a small, very round, three legged bird which lives in the Highlands of Scotland. They generally live on the sides of the mountains and because of this have 2 legs longer than the other to prevent them falling down the hills. This means they can only run one way, so they are very easy to catch. All you need to do is force them to turn round and with the long legs uphill and the short one downhill, it quickly falls down the hill and into your waiting net. Simple. It is so easy to catch haggis that they have become quite rare and many people now eat vegetarian haggis which tastes just as good without the unnecessary slaughter. ;)

Haggis does not look like or taste like a turkey.
